Dear Members & Delegates,

We have updated news that we would like to share with you in regards to PACTcon2020 and our Annual General Meeting. As you know, we had been forced to postpone our annual May gathering due to the ongoing public health crisis. We were exploring the possibility of holding the conference later in the year, however, given the severity of the ongoing pandemic we have made the decision to cancel our in-person conference for 2020.

Under normal circumstances we would now be in full swing preparing to host you, alongside our Region 6 partners, in Montreal. Like many of you who are dealing with all the effects of show cancellations, we are also processing what it means to not be able to come together a s a sector, especially at a time when connections are more important than ever.

We will still attend to the business and governance of the organization, holding a virtual Annual General Meeting on May 21st (1:00-4:00pm ET). We hope that a virtual AGM will provide an opportunity for greater accessibility and we have already arranged for a secure virtual voting platform. More information on agenda, registration and voting procedures coming to your inbox very soon.

As well, we are in the preliminary stages of planning a digital mini-conference for the week of August 24th. We know we will miss gathering together, but again we hope to be more accessible while continuing to share learning and networking opportunities, as well as providing a means for you to connect. We are also working on returning to an in-person gathering in 2021 with expanded opportunities for virtual accessibility.
