Congress just passed the CHIPS bill, a bipartisan success that will send billions of dollars to American microchip production, manufacturing and scientific research.
Biden and Schumer just got Manchin to come to an agreement on the Inflation Reduction Act – which will be the biggest single national investment ever made in the environment – will bring down drug prices for seniors – will fight inflation – and will lower the federal deficit. It will pay for itself via a new 15% corporate minimum tax.
Republicans’ online donations are unexpectedly drying up.
Democrats are ahead by 4-6 points nationally in new polls.
All of this is happening NOW, about 8 weeks from October when mail-in ballots start dropping in many states.
Is it just us, or does this feel like the start of a massive Blue Wave???

FIELD TEAM 6 IS ON HOW WE WIN!

FOUR STATE EMAIL CAMPAIGN! Most of our voter outreach involves volunteers – but there are also some absolutely essential forms of outreach that happen behind the scenes. This week, as part of our proven multi-touch strategy, we launched a massive email campaign to register more new Democrats.
We delivered 381,893 emails to women who are eligible voters and likely Democrats. These were voter registration emails with a pro-abortion rights message – and we sent them to women in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, four crucial swing states with “trigger laws” that ban or severely limit abortion rights.
Sending this many emails cost $2,587. And it was well worth it.
This is exactly the kind of nimble, topical, hypertargeted outreach we do best. And it’s effective! So far, these emails have generated 3,077 clicks on our voter registration link. (That’s only 81 cents a click!)

Field Team 6 COO Dale Roy Robinson and Partnerships Team Lead Kala Maxym joined forces to host a poppin' fundraiser for FT6 last Saturday in a lush hillside backyard in LA.

Meanwhile, life-changingly good tacos were being served on homemade tortillas, beer was chillin' like a villain, and the volunteer table was abuzz. A panoply of activist superstars new and old enjoyed each other's company, some in-person for the very first time.

Artist Deborah Ascheim (whom we met at a Bans Off Our Bodies rally) is in the process of creating a new postcard series for Field Team 6. Inspired by her 365 Days of Voters art series, each postcard will feature a hand-drawn sketch of an activist, organizer or voter from one of our nine target states with an inspiring quote about why they do this work. We're still looking for folks to represent AZ and WI so please contact our Postcarding Czar Sharon HERE and let her know you're interested – or if you know someone else you think would be great!

ONWARD TOWARD PROGRESS:
GIGANTIC PUSH FOR NEVADA
One of our favorite California partners, Onward Toward Progress, is adopting one of our favorite neighbors: the great state of Nevada.
Why Nevada? So many good reasons! First, a whopping 33% of Nevada voters have moved either into or out of the state since 2016. Getting likely new Democrats registered and engaged ASAP is key to keeping the Silver State blue.
Important races? Nevada’s got ‘em:

Senator Catherine Cortez Masto — the only Latina in the U.S. Senate

Governor Steve Sisolak — this key Democratic governor, who signed legislation making mail-in voting permanent, is fighting off a Trump-backed challenger

U.S. Representatives Dina Titus (NV-01), Susie Lee (NV-03) and Steven Horsford (NV-04) — all three need our support so Democrats hold the House and stop the likes of Kevin McCarthy from becoming Speaker or Jim Jordan and Matt Gaetz from becoming committee chairs. (The horror…)
Plus there’s the battle to preserve Democratic majorities in the state Senate and Assembly. This is pretty darn important and we all know why. (Looking at you, Arizona!)

FT6 + MOVEMENT LABS:
"SEND TEXTS, MAKE CHANGE"
Recently, Field Team 6 applied for a “texting grant” from the progressive organization Movement Labs. We didn’t get the grant, but there’s no shame in that, seeing as it was specifically a Gun Reform Grant and the selectees were the excellent Oregon Alliance For Gun Safety and Texas Gun Sense. Congratulations to both of them. Keep up the good work, friends!
However, Movement Labs was impressed by Field Team 6 and the work we’re doing to register new Democrats with gun safety messages. So much so, that they decided to promote us on their many channels. See it HERE. This is great as they’ve got bold ideas, a big reach, and some cutting edge technology. The partnership is still evolving and we’re sure to be cooking up some good stuff, so stay tuned.

VOLUNTEER SHOUTOUT: MEREDITH POMINVILLE |

This week, we’re rolling out the Red Carpet of Appreciation for an amazing volunteer, Meredith Pominville, who got started as an activist when she was just 7 years old.
“My mother made us write signs to protest them widening the street behind our house which would have destroyed the bike lane we used daily. A photo of my sign reading 'if you widen 77, I’ll end up in Heaven' made the Saturday print edition of the Miami-Herald!”
But Meredith didn’t really get back into activism until Trump won. “I made my own kiddos write signs, and we marched together in DTLA.” When she broke her foot in 2017, she hung up her marching shoes and gave phonebanking and postcarding a try.
She hit her stride working with Civic Sundays, finding her calling as a textbanker and textbank trainer. In 2018, that group did a bake sale to support Field Team 6. “Jason Berlin’s infectious energy inspired me to start textbanking with them,” in addition to the work she was doing with Civic Sundays, Indivisible, and other groups.
Now Meredith leads textbanks and training sessions with Movement Labs to recruit new Democratic candidates for local office in swing states. Plus, she still leads textbanks with Field Team 6 to register voters in the same states to hopefully vote for those candidates. And she’s now co-leader of Civic Sundays, so she stays quite busy. That’s all in addition to her day job as an interior designer and owner of Charlie M. design firm.
“I feel like when I teach others how to textbank, or phonebank, I’ve amplified my outreach by that many more people. When we vote, we win. When we do the work, we breathe a little easier. We can sleep at night.”
She does it to make a better world for her kids and because “we have no other choice. It’s our time to defend Democracy. It’s time to do the work, so let’s get busy.”
Meredith, we’re so inspired by your nonstop energy and incredible dedication to the causes you believe in. We're so glad they did not widen 77, and you did not wind up in Heaven. And we look forward to making the world an even better place together!

FIELD TEAM 6 CHAPTER!
As the midterms loom, there’s no better time to assemble your peeps into a new Field Team 6 chapter, come up with a name for it, and lead them to register Democrats! ("Chapter" sound daunting? Call it a club, a justice league, a brunch bunch. If you and someone else are in it, it works for us! It's like the carpool lane!)
Your chapter can work in-person or virtually. It can draw from a geographic base (e.g. FT6 Five Points Atlanta)... an ethnic group (FT6 Chinese-Americans for Democracy)... or even an alumni pool (FT6 Notre Dame Fighting Democrats). Your community can be tiny at first. As long as you’re engaging and registering people, you’re making a difference!
Field Team 6 makes it easy-peasy to get going. We can help you create a Slack channel to communicate with your chapter members. We have a calendar of events you can join. We have training sessions to get you started phonebanking, textbanking, postcarding, and social storming. Questions? Reach out to [email protected].
