A significant milestone has been reached in Burkina Faso’s transition to an inclusive green economy. Last month, the government’s draft National Strategy for Green Economy was validated by national stakeholder groups. The validation workshop took place as part of SWITCH Africa Green’s National Policy Dialogue on the 27
th
of July 2018 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The workshop brought together representatives from different government institutions and provided them with the opportunity to review the strategy and validate its action plan.

Stakeholder consultations on access to green finance in Ghana
National stakeholders convened in late July to provide feedback on PAGE’s draft study on access to green finance for businesses in Ghana. Green – or sustainable – finance can be loosely defined as finance resources generated to target positive social, economic and environmental outcomes or business practices.

Peru: Training on modelling techniques for green growth

“Inclusive Green Economy Policy Making for SDGs: from Implementation to Evaluation”, Universidad del Pacífico (

) and the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) held a three day capacity building event on the Integrated Green Economy Modelling (
IGEM
) Tool.

Green Fiscal Policy Network
A recent constitutional reform in Uruguay acknowledges water as a fundamental right and a new institutional set-up on water issues has been established. In July 2016 a participatory process of drafting the National Water Plan was launched. One of the main proposed actions in the plan is the introduction of agricultural usage charges and contamination fees to raise revenues, increase water-use efficiency, and improve water quality.
