PAL Community Garden

A Message from Marcella Morales Gaona, Garden Manager

I’m going through our photos, and am seeing so much change in just a couple of years. PALCG is growing! We are learning how to regenerate our soil to grow the healthiest food, and are creating habitats for wildlife with native plants.

We are grateful for the groups and individuals that came out to join us with chores around the garden. Our supporters and funders have helped our garden grow too.

Our newest excitement is our greenhouse, where we will be able to grow plants all year long. We have chickens, which we raised in our incubator, who enjoy taking over the space by looking for those grubs we like for them to eat. The honey bees have been giving us some flavorful honey!

Hosting our Final Friday Luncheons in the garden has given us a way to show off the garden and the other PAL programs to our partners and future partners, while providing food that we have grown.

We also offer various classes and workshops. Garden tours are available, as well as community projects in the neighborhood. Please stop by and see what is happening and how you can get involved in some way or contact

Snow Creek Ski Trip

On February 25, Officers Reyes, Locke and Boston took 20 kids to Snow Creek for their first skiing and snowboarding adventure. The kids enjoyed the opportunity to go out of their comfort zones and have some winter fun.
