April 2025

Message from the Executive Director

Greetings PALM members!

Spring is here, bringing renewal and warmth. As we celebrate Easter and Passover, we reflect on hope, resilience, and community. Like spring, PALM is in a season of growth, strengthening our services to better serve you.

April also celebrates Earth day, "Earth Day: A reminder to cherish our planet and act sustainably."

We’re thrilled to report that PALM’s construction is on track, with plans to reoccupy the building in January 2026! Your support has been invaluable during this time. This year, we also celebrate PALM’s 50th Anniversary—stay tuned for special events as we mark this milestone!

March 28th brought a fantastic turnout for Line Dancing, and we look forward to another event on Friday, April 25th. Bring your fans and cowboy hats for a great time!

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month. Thank you to all our volunteers—you are the heart and soul of PALM. We look forward to celebrating “You” at our Volunteer Recognition Event in April 2026.

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated Board and incredible Staff. Your hard work, commitment, and passion make everything we do at PALM possible. Your efforts ensure that we continue to grow and thrive as a community, and I am truly grateful for all that you do.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lower Merion Township and Crystal Galloway, Interim Director of Ardmore Avenue Community Center, for their ongoing support and collaboration. Your commitment to our community helps strengthen resources for older adults, and we truly appreciate your partnership.

We also want to thank Claire Kuzmicki and Dawn Batman for leading Tai Chi classes over the past few weeks. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re grateful for your efforts! With another class coming up on Tuesday, April 8th, why not join us?

Join us on Friday, April 11th, as The Villanova Tax Clinic presents an important session on Tax Fraud. Learn how to protect yourself and recognize warning signs. Don’t miss this valuable opportunity!

We want to remind you to join us for The Caring Center. A safe space to discuss concerns and receive support. Whether in-person or virtually, we’re here for you. Check the schedule for dates and times.

Looking ahead to May, we have some exciting events planned! We will be celebrating Mother’s Day in honor of all the wonderful moms and mother figures in our lives. PALM will also host a Vaccination Clinic to help ensure our community remains healthy and protected. In addition, we will hold a special Memorial Day Service to honor those who have passed. Though they are no longer with us physically, their presence remains in our hearts and memories.

PALM also has a special section in the newsletter dedicated to honoring those who have passed. If you would like to submit a name for recognition, please contact us at 610-642-9370.

We need your support for our upcoming annual Jazz Concert fundraiser! Featuring The Alfie Pollitt All-Star Trio on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, you may also pay online at palmseniors.org. Join us for an unforgettable evening!

As we embrace the warmer seasons, let’s continue prioritizing health and safety—remember to wash your hands regularly and stay up to date with vaccinations. For more information about PALM’s programs and upcoming events, please visit our website at palmseniors.org or call us at 610-642-9370 to speak with one of our specialized representatives.

With heartfelt thanks,

Dawn S. Allen
