Greetings PALM Family,
As December begins, we’re reminded that the holiday season is upon us, a time when family and friends gather to celebrate and reflect.
At PALM, our members and guests are an extension of our family, and we truly love each and every one of you. We are grateful for the bonds we share, and as 2025 quickly approaches, I want to take a moment to share updates, reflect on recent milestones, and express our deep gratitude for your ongoing support.
PALM's New Temporary Location
It's official! After years of planning and anticipation, the Center for Positive Aging in Lower Merion (PALM) will temporarily close for major renovations from Monday, December 2, 2024, through the end of January 2026.
PALM is now temporarily located at the Ardmore Community Center, 122 Ardmore Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003, beginning December 11, 2024 (tentatively), just off the corner of Spring and Ardmore Avenues. You can still reach us at 610-642-9370 or via email at info@palmseniors.org.
Our PALM team remains committed to
assisting you during this transition.
October Highlights
October was a month filled with gratitude and celebration. A special thank you to the James W Bell-Allen Masonic Lodge #97 for their generous support of our October 26th Pancake Fundraiser. It was a wonderful event, and we’re so grateful for their contribution and the amazing turnout from our community.
Thank you to all who contributed to PALM's Centenarian Sweet Caroline's 110th birthday celebration on October 29, 2024. A special thanks to Senator Cappelletti for awarding Sweet Caroline a proclamation in recognition of her milestone.
We also extend our gratitude to James W Bell-Allen #97 Lodge for their generous support on this special day. Thank you to Action News, Fox News, and Classix 107.9 Philly for their coverage. The support from the members and the community made this celebration truly memorable.
November Highlights
November continued with a month of celebration! PALM members and guests enjoyed a bus excursion to Atlantic City on November 15th.
The Alfie Pollitt Trio Jazz Concert on November 17th had us all entranced with great music, surprise appearances, praise dancing, and a poetry reading by 10-year-old entrepreneur Ava.
Our Thanksgiving Dinner Celebration on November 22nd was a day of food, fellowship, and friendship as we reflected on reasons to be thankful and the strength of our community bonds.
We’re also excited about our new initiative, The Caring Center, with a special focus on the "We Care Program." This program supports all levels of care, from mental wellness and grief counseling to finding resources for a loved one.
We invite you to join us as we advance this essential program because, at PALM, we want everyone to know: when you feel down and out, PALM is here for you. We Care!
December Updates
December 2, 2024, marks our annual Giving Tuesday Campaign. We’re thrilled to announce that PALM's Secret Santa, who donates annually, has generously contributed $500 to kick off the campaign! We invite you join in and donate today and help PALM reach our 2024 goal of $39,000.
By "Giving" to PALM, you directly make a difference in the lives of older adults. Your "Giving" helps provide:
- $6.95: One meal for an older adult.
- $34.75: Five meals for one week.
- $139.00: Meals for an older adult for the entire month.
No donation is too large or small. Please join us this Giving Tuesday and help us continue to support the older adults in our community.
Thank you for being an essential part of our PALM family. Let’s finish this year strong and step into 2025 with gratitude and excitement for what’s ahead.
Wishing you and yours a prosperous, joyous, and healthy holiday season!
