June 2025

Message from the Executive Director

Welcome June!

Hello, PALM Family - June is blooming with gratitude and joy!

June is here, bringing with it sunshine, warm summer days, celebration, and sincere gratitude! This vibrant month offers us a wonderful opportunity to honor and appreciate the generosity and kindness of our community.

With that in mind, on behalf of the entire PALM family, I want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, In Memory of Sweet Caroline Merrill and Mrs. Robinson. Thanks to your generosity, we have raised more than $2,600 so far, and gifts are still coming in. Your support helps us continue our mission of empowering older adults to live with purpose, dignity, and joy. We will proudly share the names of all donors in mid-June.

June is also packed with exciting events, and I invite you to join us at the celebrations starting Friday, June 13th:

  • Father’s Day Celebration on Friday, June 13
  • Please register at palmseniors.org to attend.

  • Juneteenth festivities from Monday, June 16, through Wednesday, June 18, featuring financial guest speakers, health experts from Mainline Health, and more.

  • A road trip on Thursday, June 19, for those interested in joining.

  • Our biggest celebration: the Juneteenth Block Party on Saturday, June 21, where PALM will host a day full of fun including panel discussions, a KidZone with activities for children of all abilities, hot dogs and hamburgers from the James W. Bell Lodge #97 Masons, special guest speakers, games, yoga, Zumba, line dancing, vendors, and much more. Please see attached flyers or visit palmseniors.org for details and to share with friends and family.

We top off this amazing week of celebration with the smooth, silky sounds of The Alfie Pollitt Trio at PALM’s Annual Fundraiser Jazz Concert on Sunday, June 22. Join us for an unforgettable evening of music and joy! This signature event supports PALM’s programs and services for older adults.

  • Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
  • Click here to purchase your ticket now!

Finally, please mark your calendar for our monthly Line Dance Class starting Friday, June 27. We had a fantastic time on May 30 learning new dances and classics, including “Boots on the Ground. See the flyer for a list of upcoming classes.

While these highlights showcase the excitement of June, PALM is alive with activity every day. We invite you to check our weekly calendar and join us, whether you're new or a familiar face, there's something here for everyone. From wellness and education to creativity and culture, PALM offers innovative programs that help older adults thrive. Stop by, get involved, and experience all that PALM has to offer. Thank you for being part of our vibrant, caring community.

With heartfelt thanks,

Dawn S. Allen
