It is hard to believe the end of the year is here. Things have been busy. PALS has found a permanent person to fill our Animal Health Sales position. I would like to introduce Chelsey Weller. I am sure you already have been collaborating with her and some of you may know her from her time at Protein Alliance.
Chelsey is a central Minnesotan that grew up in the country and continues to help her father grow alfalfa, soybeans, and corn on their fourth-generation farm. She grew up with livestock, poultry and other barnyard animals as well as worked for Jennie-O in brooder and grow out barns early in her career. Dedicating herself to sales and purchasing for the next 15 years, she is excited to be back in agriculture. She looks forward to reuniting with the names she is already familiar with, meeting the ones she is not, and building relationships with all.
Animal health outlook: Tryptophan has been the most problematic product with availability being a major problem and prices increased drastically. It has been stable for a few weeks now and we currently have granular Tryptophan in stock but that can change quickly. Methionine continued to drop throughout the year but now has taken a couple increases with supply looking tighter for Q1 but then potentially straightening out in Q2. Lysine and Threonine prices have gone up slightly contrary to the market predicting prices to rise sharply. Opinions vary on what prices will do, but supply is ok through Q1 currently. Copper has continued to go down in price but just recently had a slight increase.
I would like to thank everyone for your continued effort to drive and support the agricultural industry. I know it has been tough on the poultry side with AI again. I hope you all have the time or just take the time to enjoy the upcoming holidays with family and friends.
Thank you for your continued support,
Jason Reed
