With Thanksgiving seemingly late this year, it feels like the rest of the holidays have come all too quickly. It's easy to get caught up in the swirl of busyness and before we know it – the days slip past and the holiday season is over in the blink of an eye. It's too bad that isn't the case with the recent volitivity of lysine and threonine.
Volatile markets:
- The lysine and threonine market has been status quo. New product hasn't been available and we won't see some until timeframes in January. Although new product should bring some better pricing, supply still looks to remain tight through Q1. Expect increases in price if that tight supply becomes short.
- The copper metal market continues to bounce around mostly within the same ranges that it has for the last couple of months but pricing on copper sulfate hasn't been moving one way or another much as the copper metal market's increases and decreases are mostly averaging out to the same price range.
- Better priced vitamins have surfaced as expected although we likely won't see pre-incident pricing until BASF has resumed production.
Domestic lysine users needing a different source with Ajinomoto's lysine supply dwindling have caused Evonik's Biolys to increase in price. I believe these increases will continue for at least the next couple of months until the Ajinomoto supply is gone and Evonik can truly gauge their new customer base's volume.
Embrace the remaining holiday season and finish it with intention. Do less and enjoy more by cherishing the traditions that are important to you, make an effort to connect with those who matter most to you, and use this holiday season as an opportunity to create lasting memories with those you love. As we move into a time of reflection on the past year, we assess lessons, leave-behinds and look forward to a new beginning. No matter what you're committing to, let your New Year's resolutions be fueled by desire for self-improvement and positive change. As the fireworks fade and the music quiets, the true essence of the occasion remains – a renewed sense of hope, a fresh perspective, and the endless possibilities that a new year brings. I look forward to continued relationships, expanding my knowledge to serve you better, more product availability and better pricing! I speak for everyone here at PALS when I say, thank you for our past year's success.
