It is easy to look past the start of winter with all the cheer of the holidays' hustle and excitement. Since that's over, we realize the sun is weaker and the temps have dropped which can affect our mood, energy levels and ability to ward off viruses and infections. While viral diseases such as HPAI, MPV, and PRRS have been prevalent in animals, we hope that you don't come down with the "crud."
Monthly, quarterly and annual contracts all ended, which brought about recent pricing updates. Historically, these upcoming months are slower in feed additives and medications as whole. Updates on market conditions will be few as of right now; market conditions have been as anticipated, and we await answers to many of the questions that we've been asking for the past quarter.
Volatile markets:
- The copper metal market has recently spiked above the $4.50's which is causing the copper sulfate price to increase.
As anticipated, Biolys users will continue to see increases in price until Ajinomoto users convert and show Evonik their new demand.
Winter teaches us the importance of perseverance during difficult times, as plants and trees endure harsh conditions to bloom again in spring. Embrace and see the beauty in the season of winter transition in whatever way that means to you. Not only are there fun activities through the winter (if you dress well enough) but the promise of spring brings new life and beauty. It still seems far away but since the solstice on December 21st, from here, the days will grow longer!
