Pennsylvania Medical Society Celebrates State Boards’ Recognition as Wellbeing First Champions

This month, PAMED issued a statement congratulating the Pennsylvania State Boards of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine on their national recognition as Wellbeing First Champions. This designation honors organizations that remove intrusive mental health questions from applications, promoting a more equitable approach to licensure.

“We applaud the State licensing boards for taking this crucial step toward improving physician wellbeing in Pennsylvania,” said PAMED immediate past president Kristen Sandel, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, who played a part in advocating for this language change during her presidency. “These changes mark an important milestone in addressing burnout and ensuring a more sustainable future for health care professionals.”
