Happy Birthday PARC!

Enjoy FREE use of the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., this Friday in honor of the building's fifth anniversary! This includes use of the Prairie Fit Fitness Center, indoor walking track and open gym. Also, enjoy assorted treats and refreshments! 

2024 IAPD/IPRA Conference

The Plainfield Park District had a banner weekend at the Illinois Association of Park Districts/Illinois Park & Recreation Association Soaring to New Heights Conference held January 25-27 at the Chicago Hyatt Regency. As a whole, District was recognized as an Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency. The accreditation is a rigorous evaluation process by appointed park and recreation professionals and includes having to meet various standards and criteria in providing exceptional park and recreation services to the community. Plainfield Park District achieved a score of 503, exceeding the total possible total of 500 points (bonus points awarded in certain areas).

Doggy Egg Hunt

Bring your fur baby to Clow Stephens Dog Park at 10 a.m., March 9 so they can put their noses to work finding colorful eggs filled with treats! All dogs must have current vaccinations, be leashed, and be under the control of their owner at all times. Park District Dog Park rules apply during the event. Please register yourself for your dog.

Flashlight Egg Hunt

Grab your flashlight and basket and search for eggs in the dark starting at 8 p.m., March 22 at Bott Park! An assortment of golden eggs are hidden, which redeem for special prizes. The egg hunts are split into two age divisions: 7-9 and 10-12. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No onsite registration will be allowed. Event is held rain or shine.

Bunny Breakfast

Hop on over for the Second Annual Breakfast with the Bunny 9 to 10:30 a.m., March 23 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center. Children enjoy bunny activities and take pics with the guest of honor. Don't forget your camera to capture these precious family moments. High chairs and booster seats are not provided at this event, but parents may bring their own. Do not register those under the age of 3.

Bunny Hop Fun Run

The Bunny Hop Fun Run is one of three fun runs held by the District each year. The Third Annual Bunny Hop is set for 9 a.m., March 24 at Bott Park. The one-mile themed run cruises through and around Bott Park. Participants receive a long-sleeved T-shirt and swag bag full of festive goodies. Runners must register by March 4 to be guaranteed their T-shirt size. Looking to do all three races? Egg Hunts

Grab your basket and hop out to the baseball fields at Gregory B. Bott Community Park for the Annual Egg Hunts set for March 24. In addition to collecting eggs, participants receive a goody bag upon check-in and have an opportunity to visit with the Bunny. Be sure to check all your eggs before leaving, as various Golden Eggs are redeemable for special prizes. The Annual Egg Hunts start at 10 a.m. for ages 1-3; 10:40 a.m. for ages 4-5; and 11:20 a.m. for ages 6-7. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No onsite registration is allowed.

Adult Egg Hunt

It's an egg hunt just for adults (21 and over)! Relax and enjoy music, pizza, pop and the opportunity to go home with some great prizes, 6 to 8 p.m., April 12 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center. Pizza, pop, egg hunt and one raffle ticket are included in the fee. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase (cash only). Registration deadline is April 10. Don't forget to bring your basket!

Shelter Rental Permits Open February 1!

Resident shelter rental permits for 2024 open February 1! The Plainfield Park District offers a variety of different-sized shelters in various locations throughout the District that are ideal for your next party or outdoor event. Outdoor shelter rental season runs from mid-April through mid-October.
