Make Your Own Fun
This Tuesday, May 12, is Limerick Day, an unofficial holiday that encourages people to read and write limericks, a genre of humorous poetry that first originated in England in the 18th century. Why not celebrate by trying your hand at writing one or more! Here's an instructional video for kids on how it all works. Submit any of your original, family-friendly limericks with us via email and we may feature you on our social media!
Get in My Belly!
Desserts are back this week, because May 15 is Chocolate Chip Day, a day to celebrate the tiny morsels of chocolate that make any dessert even better ! We love a great chocolate chip cookie as much as the next person (how many of you made the Thicccck Cookies from a few weeks ago?), but visit this list of recipes for bars, breads, muffins - even sorbet, pizza and a dessert dip - yummmmm!

We believe that parks are essential, now more than ever! All Town of Cornelius parks remain open at this time, including Bailey Road, Legion, Robbins, Smithville, Torrence Chapel, and Wilhelm. However, we can only keep the parks open if YOU practice social distancing - that is, a physical distance of at least six feet. That means no doubles, no groups, no shared equipment unless among immediate family sharing the same household. Please, we need your help so we can keep our parks open!
