Cornelius PARC is bringing the programming to you!

We know you're cooped up - it seems like everything is closed or canceled, and you're at home - so what now? Your friends at Cornelius PARC are on a mission to bring you ways to keep busy, stay engaged, decompress, and maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit.
VIRTUAL Events!
Social distancing restrictions have us reimagining many of our traditional events, presenting them in ways that allow you to enjoy them from home.

Visit us on Facebook or YouTube for this year's Memorial Day Observance, which we will post starting at 10 a.m. next Monday, May 25.
If you missed the live Virtual Cornelius Jazz Festival this past weekend, it can still be viewed on our Facebook page and the Town's YouTube channel.
Keep Moving
What's your name? You can use each letter for a different exercise! Want to raise it up a notch? Do the exercises for your middle name and/or last name, too. This site has three name-related workouts : one for kids, a basic/beginner version for teens and adults, and an extreme version.

Make Your Own Fun
Tuesday, May 20, is World Bee Day. Did you know that in addition to producing delicious honey, bees help pollinate nearly three quarters of the plants that produce 90% of the world’s food? They're kind of a big deal. A safe way to celebrate bees this year could be a fun bee craft with the family, so we found this site with ten ideas to keep your kids "buzz-y"!

Get in My Belly!
May 20 is also National Pick Strawberries Day. We found a list of berry farms in our area , recently updated with current hours and restrictions. What to do with all that sweet bounty? Lucky for us all, May 21 is National Strawberries and Cream Day - no kidding! Whether you have picked your own or grabbed them from the store, here's a link on Delish with over 20 strawberries and cream-inspired recipes . (We're not really sure about the one that uses Ritz crackers, so if you make it, please let us know how it turns out!)

In times of crisis we learn the value of community. Please consider our local restaurants, both the business owners and the many affected employees! Order for carry out or delivery, or purchase gift cards for later use! Visit Lake Norman is maintaining a list of Lake Norman food and beverage locations still operating and a link to their new Virtual Tip Jar through their Lakeside Curbside webpage.

Visit Lake Norman
Visit Lake Norman is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to our local and regional economies through tourism for 20 years. In addition to maintaining a visitor's center on West Catawba Avenue, they promote meetings, special events, athletic tournaments, and more in our area. Check out their online shop with LLN items and their Curbside Lakeside page with lots of extras, such as LKN coloring sheets and virtual tours of local destinations.
We believe that parks are essential, now more than ever! All Town of Cornelius parks remain open at this time, including Bailey Road, Legion, Robbins, Smithville, Torrence Chapel, and Wilhelm. However, we can only keep the parks open if YOU practice social distancing - that is, a physical distance of at least six feet. That means no doubles, no groups, no shared equipment unless among immediate family sharing the same household. Please, we need your help so we can keep our parks open!
