No registration or power at PARC 


No online or in-person registration will be available September 26, as power will be temporarily shut off at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center (PARC) in order to connect a new solar field to the building. PARC will remain open with the following changes:

  • Phone calls to PARC will be re-routed to the Recreation Administration Center
  • No internet or email at PARC
  • Limited availability for restrooms at PARC
  • No electronic machines (treadmills, bikes, etc.) available in Prairie Fit
  • No email for the entire Park District


The power is estimated to be off 4 to 6 hours. For questions or concerns, please call Guest Services at (815) 436-8812.

Park District earns national accreditation


Today, Plainfield Park District joins the ranks of elite park and recreation agencies across the country by earning accreditation through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). CAPRA accreditation is the only national accreditation for park and recreation agencies, and is a measure of an agency’s overall quality of operation, management and service to the community.

Enchanted Ball

Giving Tuesday BINGO


Last chance for FREE Giving Tuesday BINGO 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., September 20 at the Plainfield Township Community Center. Bring a canned good or non-perishable food item and receive one free BINGO card per item donated. The food items will be donated to Loaves & Fishes Community Services. Registration is required.

Autumn Family Fun Fest


Join us at Eaton Preserve 1 to 4 p.m., September 24 for fall-themed fun!

Esports Leagues


Plainfield Park District has partnered with GGLeagues to launch our own esports club! Access safe and fun esports competition, educational opportunities for parents and gamers, and exciting news about new leagues and upcoming events. GGLeagues have trained support admins and referees who are present to enforce the rules, ensure the safety of all players, and most importantly make sure everyone is having a great time.

Frankenstein's Kiddie Carnival


Ghosts and goblins are wanted for a night of fun 6:30 to 8 p.m., October 14 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center! Put on your best Halloween costume and join us for carnival games, crafts and an inflatable. Fee is $15/$19 for residents/non-residents and includes 12 game tickets, crafts and popcorn. Additional tickets are available for sale on site. Pre-registration is required; no onsite registration.

Haunted Hayrides


Bone-chilling thrills abound at the annual Haunted Hayrides, running 5 to 8 p.m., October 21 and 22 at Eaton Preserve. Family friendly versions run 5 to 6:30 p.m., with scary versions 6:30 to 8 p.m. Cost is $12/$15 for residents/non-residents.

Spooky Sprint


Dress up for a one-mile fun run around Eaton Preserve’s Halloween-decorated Haunted Hayride trail starting at 10:30 a.m., October 22. Cool swag and a medal comes with registration. Event sponsored by Ascension Saint Joseph and Heartland Bank.
