Q: We understand that an annual general meeting should only be open to representatives from member communities, but why are those representatives asked to register in advance?
A: Here's an example to illutrate how it is necessary to conduct an election during a virtual election: Suppose that 2 PARCS members were both nominated for a vacant director position in the same district - the resulting ballot with 2 names on it would then be emailed out (at the end of the meeting) to all members from that district who had attended the meeting. The completed ballots would be returned in an email that same evening and counted and then announced the following day, as part of the Report on the Annual Meeting. That's why we are asking for the name and email address of each person who is attending from a member community.
Q: Does PARCS have a full slate of candidates running for their 2023 Board?
A: The incumbents for the following positions have agreed to let their names stand: the President, the 1st Vice-President, the 2nd Vice-President, plus the Regional Director from the South-East. At this annual meeting, the chair will ask if there are further nominees for these position.
Also, the Chair will call for nominations from delegates from member communities located within each of the remaining districts, currently without an incubent.
- the North-West District,
- the North-East District, and
- the South-West District.
Q: Beside the minutes and the financial report, regarding what other aspects of 2022 will PARCS hear reports?
A: The President will report on our 2022 partnership with Ducks Unlimited, on our virtual convention, and on on our upcoming follow-up with the Water Security Agency regarding a Saskatchewan wetlands policy. The Co-ordinator will report data about our membership levels, about our Constant Contact newsletters, and about our recent registrations for our virtual convention.
Q: Will there be an opportunity for discussion about PARCS' future?
A: The agenda for this annual meeting has a section in which the chair will call for comments and discussion from attendees about both PARCS' recent initiatives, along with future priorities.
