Congrats to EP Senior Alex Deng on qualifying for the Olympic trials in the 100M Breaststroke in June. Good luck, Alex! CMS has participated in National History Day for the last six years and this year, we sent 30 students and their projects to the State competition in April. The event is sponsored and hosted by the Minnesota History Center.  Former CMS student, Sasha Allen, competed in the Individual Documentary category taking first place in the Senior Division. She will also be presenting at Nationals for her third appearance in a row. We are inspired by our student’s achievements! Those placing first or second in state then qualify for the National History Day contest. The following are students from the Advanced Social Studies classes at CMS, taught by 7th grade teacher Karen Nelson and 8th grade teacher Patti Cwodzinski.

Celebrating our EP School Nurses & Health Paraprofessionals  Our school nurses and health paraprofessionals are essential for healthy students, healthy schools and healthy communities. Thank you for championing the whole student.

Summer Device Use All students in grades K-11 are encouraged to take their school-assigned iPad or MacBook home with them over the summer. This will allow them to use their device for summer learning activities and prepare them for a seamless transition into learning when school resumes in the fall. If parents/guardians want their student(s) to leave their devices at school instead, they should submit the Take Home Opt-Out form. If your student(s) is not returning to Eden Prairie Schools in the fall, please be sure to complete the Take Home Opt-Out form. Elementary students with a completed form will be asked to leave their iPad and charger with their homeroom teacher the last day of school.  CMS and EPHS students with a completed form, and graduating seniors, will be instructed on how to turn in their devices during the last few days of school.   Current 8th grade students will receive communication from EPHS on dates for swapping their iPad with a MacBook this summer.

Nutrition Services – We appreciate your hard work!  This year meal prep and distribution has changed multiple times. We are humbled by the hard work of our dedicated child nutrition staff who work to inspire our students through nutritious meals every day.
