Sacristan (Altar Guild):

The role of the sacristan is to perform the unseen tasks that make the liturgical celebration what it is – sacristans care for the vestments and the vessels used in the Eucharist and are involved in preparing the altar before worship as well as attending to things after worship.  The Altar Guild is the "Liturgical Props and Costumes" department of the Parish.

ACOLYTE

Acolyte (Altar Server): Learn how to support our worship at the altar in different roles, such as crucifer and torch bearer. These are the folks who process in and out with the clergy and choir, and are seated near the altar during the Eucharist. 

Acolytes have also assisted at the Altar since ancient times.

LECTORS

Become familiar with the appointed lesson(s) and then read the one you’ve been assigned during the liturgy on Sunday (usually either the Old Testament lesson or the Epistle reading).

Lectors have a long history in the Church dating back to ancient times.  Join this lineage of service!

Greeters

Known in ancient times as "The Order of Door-keeprs," Greeters are a friendly and welcoming presence for those joining us on Sunday morning. Arrive a little early and stay near the entrance during the service. You’ll pass out service leaflets, help newcomers who need a little assistance, and bring up the gifts of bread, wine, and money at the Offertory.

Videographer

Learn how to use our equipment and handle the process of live-streaming  Mass on Sunday mornings. You’ll sit to the side of the pulpit and altar during the service.  Sorry, but there were no videographers in the ancient Church.   ;)
