PARTNERS' PULSE

VOLUME 2 . EDITION 1 . May 2025

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

"In the spring, I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24 hours."

-Mark Twain

Twain's quote feels personal and reminds me of our industry. In the course of 24 hours, on any given day, we're juggling what feels like 136 different kinds of projects! From board meetings to maintenance calls, resident questions to vendor follow-ups, state and federal compliance matters or new legal requirements - community management is anything but predictable. But we are Partners in this endeavor and that's what makes it rewarding.

Spring is our seasonal reminder that change is constant - and that growth, both personal and professional, comes when we stay curious, stay connected, and stay involved. It's that feeling you get from learning something new, reconnecting with a friend, or simply taking a break to enjoy the moment. The joy you experience...it's contagious. It's what makes communities thrive...and it's what makes life interesting.

This quarter's newsletter is packed with updates and inspiration, including highlights from our recent Board Member Appreciation & Info-Cational Event (yes, it was as fun and informative as it sounds!), company updates, team shout-outs, and more. We hope it sparks a few new ideas - or at least a smile.

As always, we want to hear from you. Got feedback? Questions? A topic you'd love us to cover next time? Let us know. Simply click on the "Comments" link below.

Thanks for being part of what makes our communities great! And, it's Spring...don't forget to take a moment to stop and smell the roses!

-David

REAL LIFE

A tip from Kimberly Fuentes: The next time you feel triggered, instead of reacting, take a deep breath and just watch the feeling. Let it move through you like a passing cloud. This helps build emotional resilience and deepens self-awareness.

A tip from Priscilla Naiman: 1) Know where your water shut-off valve is located and what type of access you need. 2) Buy a plastic washer pan and place it under your washer - it will save you a lot of headaches when your washer 'springs' a leak.

Thanks for the tips, you two!

INTRODUCING OUR NEW EMPLOYEES...

Din Zahir, Community Manager

His portfolio of communities is based in the Pasadena area and includes luxury-mid-rise-mixed-use buildings, one of which is in transition from Developer to HOA, and condominiums and townhomes. In his free-time, Din loves working out, going to the beach, spending time with family, and a neat glass of whiskey.

Lontrice Dorton, Community Manager Lontrice comes to us with a background in Construction Management, Equestrian Management, Property Management, New Home Sales, Real Estate, and Executive Administration. Her portfolio is based in the Montebello/San Gabriel Valley area and incudes single family homes, condominiums, and townhomes. SURE COULD USE A LITTLE GOOD NEWS...

Kimberly Fuentes, Community Manager, recently passed the M100 and is looking to take the CMCA next month. Way to go, Kimberly!

Karol Ortez, Controller, has a lot of good news to report...her two daughters received their First Communion in April and their Grandma, who lives in Nicaragua, was able to experience this momentous occasion and will be visiting with them for an entire month! They are all super excited!

Mary Ishida, Community Manager, and her husband, Fernando, and their daughter, Mila, took off for Brazil to visit Fernando's family and introduce Mila to Fernando's beautiful home country. In addition to many joyous moments with Grandma, aunts, uncles, cousins and experiencing the delicious cuisine of Brazil, they visited the Christ the Redeemer Statue which is situated on top of Corcovado mountain overlooking the city of Rio de Janeiro. Constructed between 1922 and 1931, the statue stands 98 feet high and was voted one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. This time of year, it's fall in Brazil so it's the perfect time to travel. They had gorgeous weather and the views from on top of the mountain were astounding!

Candice Baron, Director of Business Development, and her husband, Allen, took a trip to visit friends on Dauphin Island, a barrier island located just off the coast of Alabama. Dauphin Island is well-known in the birding community as it is an important migratory route for many varieties of birds. The island has only 2,200 full-time residents and feels undiscovered, old, and very southern. For history buffs, it's home to Fort Gaines, which was established in 1821 and is best known for its role in the Battle of Mobile Bay during the Civil War, and its Native American shell mounds dating back to the Mississipian period (1100-1550). If you're looking for a laid back place with no stop lights, ancient trees dripping in Spanish moss, beaches, and lots of history, Dauphin Island will not disappoint!
