PARTNERS' PULSE

VOLUME 2 . EDITION 3 . DECEMBER 2025

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

"We cannot stop the winter or the summer from coming...but we can choose what we will contribute to life when each arrives."

-Gary Zukhav

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for winter and the holidays. I’ve never lived in a place with extremely cold or snowy winters, but California has its own version of the four seasons - and I've grown to appreciate it.

One of my favorite signs of the season is the Aconitifolium Japanese Maple. In spring and summer, its leaves are a vibrant green. Come fall, they light up to a brilliant red and gold, then drop their leaves by December - like clockwork. This tree, also known as the Dancing Peacock or Maiku Jaku, is one of my favorites. I look forward to walks at the Huntington Library, watching the kaleidoscope of color unfold.

What are you looking forward to this winter and holiday season? What gets you excited and makes you happy?

For me, it's the chance to slow down a bit. There’s something about the cold weather that invites rest. I enjoy winding down with a glass of whiskey or bourbon, and hunkering down at home like a bear ready to hibernate.

We’ve put together a fun and uplifting newsletter for you. Our team is working in—and on—your community every day, and we’d love you to get to know us a little better. If there’s something we can do for you, please let us know. In the meantime, take care of yourself and enjoy the holiday season. Reach out to someone you’ve been thinking about—it'll make their day. Let’s all make the world a little better, one kindness at a time.

As always, we’d love to hear from you. Got a question, idea, or topic you’d like us to explore? Click the “Comments” link below.

And whatever it is that makes you smile and sing (even if it’s only in the shower)—that’s what I’m wishing for you this holiday season.

Warmly,

-David

PARTNERS' BOOK CLUB

The two books presented have very similar themes but were presented completely independent of one another - great minds!

LET THEM

by Mel Robbins

When people show you who they are, let them. Don't take things personally - take responsibility instead. Clean your side of the street and you'll be just fine.

-Lontrice

THE FOUR AGREEMENTS

by Don Miguel Ruiz

This book has been around a long time and is one of my favorites. It's a book I turn to again and again and have shared with many family members and friends. It is inspired by the Toltec people's spiritual beliefs and it will teach you, simply, how to improve your life and your thoughts.

The Four Agreements:

  1. Be impeccable with your word.
  2. Do not take anything personally.
  3. Do not make assumptions.
  4. Always do your best.

If we could all lead our lives by these four simple agreements, the world would be a much better place.

A GENTLE REMINDER THIS DECEMBER

The holidays can be difficult for many, even if they don't show it. Here are a few gentle reminders that can help:

Take one day at a time. You don't have to have everything figured out. Focus on getting through today, one small step at a time. Progress, not perfection.

A short "Thinking of You" message can mean a lot. Send a simple message to someone you haven't heard from in a while. This can mean more than you realize.

Do one kind thing daily. Smile at someone. Hold the door. Offer a compliment. Kindness has a quiet way of finding its way back to you.

Create small moments of calm. Pause. Breathe. Go for a short walk. Play your favorite song. Small moments of peace help you reconnect with yourself.

Let yourself rest. You don't always have to be positive or strong. Rest isn't weakness, it's how we heal.

You matter - even on quiet days. You make a difference. Your presence brings light to others in ways you might not see.

A little kindness for ourselves and others can go a long way!

INTRODUCING OUR NEW EMPLOYEES

He has a strong work ethic, enjoys challenges, loves tech, and believes listening is the key to understanding and finding resolution. If you want to know what drives Nestor, look no further than his family.

Jenelyn Jison, Accounts Payable Specialist

Jen has a strong background in accounting and truly enjoys her work. She brings a positive attitude to her tasks because, as Jen says, "the work feels lighter when you enjoy the process". In her off-hours, Jen loves spending time with her family, learning new things, and finding small ways to stay active and have fun.

Loraine Tumpalan, Accounts Receivable Specialist Loraine has worked in the property management industry since 2020. Her focus is Accounts Receivable, however, she also possesses a strong understanding of the financial processes within property management's other areas of accounting. NESTOR, JENELYN, LORAINE, AND CYNTHIA...

WE'RE THRILLED TO HAVE YOU

ON OUR TEAM!

SURE COULD USE A LITTLE GOOD NEWS...

Pete - after six months of severe leg pain, Pete is back in the office after successfully undergoing spinal surgery last month. We're so happy to have him back!

Mary - is celebrating 22 years of marriage! Congratulations to Mary and Fernando - well done! Mary also celebrates 4 years with Partners Community Management. We're so lucky to have you on our team, Mary!

Candice - just returned from four weeks in beautiful, delicious Italy. She and her husband, Allen, rented a farmhouse in Tuscany for three weeks where family joined them as they immersed themselves in the local culture and strolled the many (and mini) villages of Tuscany. After Tuscany, they spent five days in Rome where they visited one of their favorite places - the Roman Forum - and finally saw the Appian Way which included touring the Catacombe San Sebastiano - which was fascinating!

Freda - Being alive is the best news!

Jenelyn - I'm new to Partners Community Management and it has been such a pleasure! Every day brings new lessons and experiences that help me grow both personally and professionally. Working in HOA management is indeed a great challenge, but it's also a deeply fulfilling and meaningful role. I'm truly grateful for this journey and thrilled to keep learning, growing, and thriving in this role.

Lontrice - Life is good!

REAL LIFE

A shared family calendar. One place with everyone's plans? Brilliant!

Out-of-state emergency contact person. Because phones, electricity, internet may be down in your city/state. Elect one person everyone can call so they know you're okay.

Make friends with someone smarter than you. Because you don't know what you don't know!

Always be nice to people. Avoid gossip - no need to step on others to get ahead. Period.

Know where your water shut-off valve is.

Life isn't always easy. There are ups and downs. Remember that with every fall, there's an opportunity to stand back up, keep going, and grow stronger. Challenges are part of the journey, and perseverance makes all the difference. Stay persistent, believe in yourself, and keep pushing ahead.

Give genuine compliments often. They cost nothing but can completely shift someone's day.

When overwhelmed, ask: "What's the next best step?" It breaks big problems into manageable actions.

Pause and breathe.

All fantastic tips!

Thank you everyone!

I JUST SAW THIS MOVIE AND LOVED IT!

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE

Jeremy Allen White portrays The Boss in this moody film about Bruce Springsteen before the release of "Born In The USA" which catapulted him to worldwide fame. This movie touched me. "Born In The USA" was the soundtrack to my 80's and it's a reminder that we never know what's going on with someone...even someone who you think has it all. Multiple Oscar nominations are predicted.

NOW YOU SEE ME, NOW YOU DON'T

I loved the mystery of it all.
