IT’S TIME TO RENEW YOUR PASH MEMBERSHIP FOR 2024-2025

As mentioned in the President’s Letter, COPAS is handling member registration for 2024-2025 for all societies through the COPAS website and it is now live. Members may now register at this link: https://copas.org/membership/. The registration information provided will be used to update PASH’s records and provide updates on committee membership.

Please note there is a 3% fee applied if paying by credit card. If you are paying with a check or multiple registrations, please contact Vanessa Galindo at the COPAS office directly @ vanessa.galindo@copas.org.

If you are currently registered with a “Retired” or “Associate” membership those renewals will still be handled through the PASH Treasurer. Please be watching for your current year invoice. If you anticipate changing to a “Retired” membership this year, please contact the PASH Treasurer @ pashtreasurer@gmail.com.

INTERESTED IN BEING ON A DOCUMENT RE-WRITE TEAM?

COPAS has asked for those interested in joining a document rewrite team to please submit your name using the following direct link https://copas.org/publication-project-team-interest/ The Project Team Interest Form can also be found on the COPAS website under the Resources drop down menu by selecting the Project Status Report button.

LET’S GET SOCIAL

PASH is establishing a Sub-committee of Hospitality this year to help us get more Social. We still fully embrace keeping you educated on all the current trends and happenings in Oil & Gas Accounting and offering CPE credits, but we know it’s also important to just be able to relax and have fun. We’re looking for volunteers to help identify and set up some social activities we can offer to PASH members on a Pay to Play basis. If you’re interested in getting this Sub-committee going, please contact either Ashley Jackson @ jacksonaj0328@gmail.com or Carmen Easton @ Carmen_Easton@SWN.COM. There will also be a sign-up sheet at Registration in September.

NATIONAL FALL COPAS REGISTRATION OPEN FOR SAN ANTONIO IN SEPTEMBER

We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the COPAS 2024 Fall Meeting! 

This year, our fall meeting is hosted by the Petroleum Accountants Society of San Antonio at the beautiful Westin River Walk Hotel in San Antonio, TX. Join us from September 23 to 27, 2024, for a week filled with insightful presentations, engaging discussions, and unique networking opportunities.

This event is an excellent chance to connect with fellow industry professionals, gain valuable knowledge, and explore the vibrant city of San Antonio.

CALLING ALL 1^ST TIMERS 

The PASH Board of Directors has approved a “Registration Fee” reimbursement for a first-time PASH attendee to a National COPAS meeting. We’ll be drawing a name from the list of PASH members who attended, as a1^st Timer, the National COPAS meeting in San Antonio. If your name is drawn, you are a PASH member in good standing and you are not already reimbursed by your employer, PASH will reimburse your $400 registration fee.

EMERGING ISSUES COMMITTEE REQUEST – FALL COPAS

Hello from the COPAS National Emerging Issues Sub-committee Team!

Have you recently come across an unanswerable information request? Have you received an outrageous audit exception? Have you received a charge on your JIB statement that begs to be disputed, but you are not sure why? If the answer to any of these questions is YES, then this is your chance to get help from the Emerging Issues Sub-committee at the upcoming national meeting in San Antonio! In an effort to keep the meeting discussions relevant to you, we are asking for your help with finding COPAS questions, situations, stories, topics, or issues that we can use for our case study discussions.

Would you please send us a message at EI@copas.org as soon as possible and tell us about any COPAS questions, situations, stories, issues, or speaker ideas you have that could be used for general discussion at Emerging Issues Sub-committee meetings? No fancy narrative is needed, just a sentence or two describing the idea is perfect, and later we will follow-up to get more details. This is your opportunity to make an impact on our industry, as Emerging Issues discussions can be a catalyst for industry change and can result in COPAS taking action in some way.

Please note, we greatly appreciate all ideas and suggestions submitted by members. We treat all information with confidentiality and respect, and we will change company names and other identifying info before presenting a topic for discussion at an EI meeting.

BIG NEWS

PASH was established in 1952 which means we will celebrate our 75^th Anniversary in 2027. To put a spotlight on PASH’s longevity of leadership within COPAS, the Board has authorized our Society to host the Spring 2027 COPAS National Meeting. This is a large undertaking, and we will be looking for volunteers to Chair the multiple planning committees. Each chair will then recruit committee members both for planning and “boots on the ground” at the event. This is a great way to get more involved in PASH, get to know your fellow members and gain insight into COPAS at the National level. Please consider getting involved as we highlight not only PASH contributions to COPAS but those of our honored Past Presidents.
