PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear PASH Members,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 PASH year!

The PASH Board has been busy planning for the upcoming year. We plan to keep the meeting format like last year by having a mixture of in-person meetings and virtual meetings. The Board and the Committees are also working hard to line up CPE speakers for the upcoming year. We welcome any suggestions you would like us to research. If you have a suggestion for either a speaker, topic or location of our meetings, please reach out to the Committee Chairs or any PASH Board member.

With COPAS increasing membership dues, the PASH Board has decided to increase our membership fees by $5, making our dues $355 for 2025-26. Similar to last year, most membership renewals will be handled via the COPAS website. For special cases, retired and honorary, our PASH Treasurer will be handling those invoices/payments instead of COPAS.

We are always looking for ways to increase our membership and participation. Think about inviting your boss, co-worker, or friend to a PASH meeting. The committee meetings are free and if they would like to stay for dinner, you can add a guest to your dinner reservation for a fee. We are also collaborating with the COPAS Board to figure out the best way to reach college students/new graduates who are interested in Oil & Gas Accounting. Many don’t realize there is an opportunity in our Oil & Gas Accounting world. If you have any ideas on how we can reach these individuals, please reach out to us so we can explore this new possibility together.

PASH will be hosting the Spring 2027 national meeting here in the Houston area and will be celebrating PASH’s 75th anniversary during the national meeting. We are looking for volunteers to Chair various segments of the event. The Chairs will then recruit members to help on those committees. Please consider getting involved, your contribution is meaningful. It’s a great way to meet other members you may not regularly interact with during the year. Our Past Presidents will also be recognized at this event.

Tee off with PASH- Golf Teams forming now!

Tee it up for a great day on the greens! Join us at the 2025 PASH Georgeanna Sockwell Memorial Golf Tournament to be held October 2^nd at the Jersey Meadows Golf Club (8502 Rio Grande St. Houston, TX 77040).

Registration will open Monday August 18^th 2025. Grab your clubs and your crew (at least one PASH member per team) for a day of fairways, friendly competition, and industry connections. Membership Update

If you were a member of PASH last year, you should have already received a membership renewal notice directly from Vanessa at COPAS National. If you haven’t seen it yet, please check your email or reach out to us if you’re unsure of your status.

For our Retired, Associate, and Honorary members:

Your membership is being handled separately by our PASH Treasurer. If you’re an Honorary member and responded to our earlier email this summer, no further action is needed — you’re all set!

Invoices for our retired members went out on August 8th via email.

COPAS National Meeting Spring 2027

We are pleased to announce PASH has signed a contract with the Hyatt Regency Baytown-Houston hotel. The event is planned for April 19 – April 23, 2027. 

There are many factors that go into planning an event of this size. We need all the help we can get whether it be in the planning phase, at the event itself and anywhere in between. 

We would like to have a quick meeting during Happy Hour (5:30pm) at the September meeting. We will follow up with a more in-depth discussion via zoom the following week.
