Membership Committee

There are some exciting and fresh things happening this year and we are excited that you will be a part of it! With your membership, you have access to educational opportunities, committee and general meetings, networking, and COPAS national meetings. To get the most out of your membership, you need to participate! Join a committee, participate in document re-writes, submit comments, or attend a national meeting. There are several ways to get involved. Reach out if you are interested.


PASH is a great place to network and get to know others in the oil and gas industry. If you know someone interested in joining, the Membership Application and instructions can be found on pashcopas.org under the Membership Tab, then Membership Application.

Revenue Committee

The Revenue Committee will be featuring Nicholas ‘Nick’ Dunn from Ryan, LLC.  Nick is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a BSBA and an emphasis in accounting. Currently Nick is a Senior Manager at Ryan, LLC with over 11 years of experience doing oil & gas state and local tax consulting.

 

His topic will be: “Texas Severance Tax & State Royalty Overview”

Education Committee 

Education Day has been set to Monday, May 20, 2024, and will be held in person at the Hilton - Greenspoint location (where the dinner meetings have been held this year). Watch for registration to open early to mid-April.


The Education committee will hold its third meeting of year on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, via Zoom @ 7pm. This committee meeting will focus on the scholarship program and Education Day speakers for Education Day 2024. If you have suggestions for topics or know someone who might be interested in presenting at Education Day, please let us know. Please email Jacque Bateman (jacque.k.bateman@gmail.com & pasheducation@gmail.com) if you would like to participate in future Education Committee meetings. Golf and Picnic Committee

Golf committee will be holding a meeting at 4pm in the JI/Audit room next week (after the JI/Audit meeting). The Golf Tournament is March 25th at 8:30am. Registration and sign up will be sent out on February 26th. We are in need of additional sponsors. Dinner Speaker/Topic 

Deanna Newcomb, Cheniere Energy, will be joining us again to present our favorite topic - Business Ethics!


 

Deanna Newcomb joined Cheniere Energy in May 2017 as Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer and Vice President Internal Audit. With over 30 years of experience in the commodities industry with an emphasis in energy and energy related industries. Deanna is focused on enterprise compliance & ethics programs, internal audit, regulatory and trading compliance, business process and controls, and information management. Deanna has been involved with diversity & inclusion efforts throughout of her entire career including but not limited to women’s development.


Prior to joining Cheniere, Deanna has worked in consulting and has had direct industry experience working in compliance & ethics, trading compliance, risk management, project management and various accounting roles.


Deanna currently serves on the board of Cheniere Foundation and is a Professor of Practice at Texas A&M University Agriculture and Life Sciences and Mays Business School teaching Business Ethics and Trading Ethics. Deanna loves to volunteer. She is currently a mentor in WEN (Women’s Energy Network) which she has been a part of this program for over 10 years and is a volunteer at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.


Deanna holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Stephen F Austin. Beyond the office, Deanna is happily married, the proud mother of two adult sons and enjoys spending time at the family ranch in central Texas.
