For the 1st speaker; we have Michael Mondelli. Michael is a Senior Manager with External Reporting & Technical Accounting with Hess Corporation.
From 2004 to 2014, Michael worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the assurance practice in Houston, serving oil and gas and oilfield services clients. He has been at Hess Corporation since 2014, managing the corporation’s technical accounting and SEC external reporting functions. He serves on the Committee of Accounting & Corporate Finance at the American Petroleum Institute.

Description: This course is intended to explain the history / background of Section 1504 of the Dodd Frank Act (which was passed in 2010), which added Section 13(q) to the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and to provide insight into the resolution of various interpretive issues that the industry has encountered when applying the Final Rule.
2nd Speaker
The 2nd speaker will be Mac Stockdale, founder and President of Quanta Technologies Inc., a hedging management software solution for upstream oil and gas companies.
Mac spent his professional career in global markets at ABN Amro Bank where he oversaw derivative trading in multiple asset classes, and sold financial risk management products to companies in several major global industries. After the 2008 Financial Crisis, he rebuilt the bank’s derivative platform to focus on the energy sector, primarily in North America and EMEA. After banking, he founded Quanta, a software company focused on helping US upstream oil and gas manage their commodity derivative portfolios.

Description: Mac will be providing an overview of what corporate price risk management is, and the industries that use it. He’ll then focus on the importance of hedging in oil and gas, and the tools used in its implementation. Finally, he’ll provide a glimpse into where the industry is heading, and what to expect from the new wave of technology on the horizon.
