Join a committee, participate in document re-writes, submit comments, or attend a national meeting. There are several ways to get involved. Reach out if you are interested.

The Revenue Committee and Financial Reporting & Tax Committee will hold a joint meeting for the November event on Thursday, 11/16/2023 at 3pm.

This month our guest speaker for the event will be presenting on the topics of oil and gas reserve report and the carbon capture economics, use and storage. As many of you are aware, carbon capture is a very hot topic in our industry, so this will be a great opportunity to learn about the subject!

We will be hosting the CEO of Netherland, Sewell & Associates (NSAI); NSAI is a professional oil and gas reservoir engineering firm and used by many oil and gas companies.

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee will be reviewing MFI 57 and providing our comments as well as voting and updating the Audit Committee Charter.

Joint Interest Committee

Happy Fall JIB Committee!

For November, we will have Karla Bower presenting on Payroll Burden and Benefits. 

Karla Bower is a Joint Interest Consultant in Houston. After graduating from the University of Kansas, she spent most of her career coordinating Land and joint interest accounting matters at ConocoPhillips. Karla chaired the PASH and COPAS Joint Interest Committees, served on the Board of Directors for the Petroleum Accountants Society of Houston (PASH) and COPAS, and was COPAS President in 2007. Karla participated on numerous COPAS task forces and co-led the task force that developed the 2022 Accounting Procedure. Karla received the COPAS Eagle Award in 2011 and was inducted into the inaugural class of COPAS’ Ring of Honor in 2017, in recognition of her commitment and contributions to COPAS.
