Be Innovative, Be Inspirational, Be a Leader: 2019 PATH Intl. Online Education Call for Abstracts Is Open
Blue and green Virtual Conference logo with 2019 location button Now is your opportunity to be part of the PATH Intl. online learning community and the third annual PATH Intl. Virtual Conference!

PATH Intl. is actively soliciting abstracts on important research, best practices, trends and developments of significance to association members and industry professionals for diverse online offerings in 2019. The association is especially interested in receiving abstracts from presenters with information focused on the field of equine-assisted activities and therapies, innovative programing, research or other related specialties. All topics and specialties are welcome! Want to get involved but not sure if you specialize in an area of educational need? Take a peek at what is in the works, submit an abstract and reach out to Rachel Moore if you have any questions!

  • Volunteer education
  • Developing and sustaining a hippotherapy program in center services
  • Unmounted programs across the ages
  • Working with nonverbal program participants
  • Special considerations for participants living with Down syndrome
  • Lesson Planning for adults
  • Creative marketing and branding support for EAAT programs
With a limited time commitment, you can provide others with the opportunity to lead their field.

Submit your abstract by January 28, 2019.
PATH Intl. Disaster Relief Fund
Thanks to the PATH Intl. Disaster Relief Fund, member centers facing dire needs due to natural disasters were able to move one step closer to recovery in this past year.

PATH Intl. relies on donations to the disaster relief fund to help member centers rebuild what may have been lost to wild fires, flooding, hurricanes and other natural or manmade disasters. Granting centers funds helps move them one step closer to surviving, rebuilding and thriving, continuing to provide health, recreation and well-being to their communities through equine-assisted activities and therapies.

But we need your help. The devastation to PATH Intl. centers in the last year has been fierce and, as a result, the disaster relief fund is seriously low. If you have ever watched the news and thought, "How can I help," the PATH Intl. Disaster Relief Fund is how and now is the time. Your timely donation will ensure centers that are hurting can get the help they need. Click here to learn more about the disaster relief fund.

Thank you for your generosity, and happy holidays!

Center Renewal
The deadline to renew your center membership is December 31, 2018. The center renewal booklet and all items (including the invoice on pg. 2 of the booklet) must be completed and returned along with payment to the PATH Intl. office or completed online at www.pathintl.org by January 15 or the center will be assessed a $60 late fee.

Click here to renew online. NOTE: The center's primary contact or executive director must be logged in to his or her personal account in order to renew online.

If you need to update the primary contact for your center, please send in a center change notification form or a premier accredited center change notification form.

Of course, if you prefer to send in a hard copy renewal, that is still an option. Download and complete the center renewal booklet and renewal invoice, and mail it in.

Centers that prefer to pay by check rather than credit card may complete the center renewal booklet online and mail or use an electronic check for center membership dues.

For more information about renewing your center membership, please visit our FAQ page or the center renewal page.

New year, new home! The PATH Intl. Equine Welfare Committee Equine Tips will be moving to the PATH Intl. Education eNews on January 30, 2019. Saddle Fit and Rider Balance
By Jochen Schleese, MDS, CSFT, CSE
©2018 Saddlefit 4 Life ® All Rights Reserved

The question has been asked whether there are additional saddle fitting considerations when working with an unbalanced rider. I think the answer to this is rather an obvious one - any time a rider is unbalanced it absolutely either a) affects the fit of the saddle or b) is actually caused by the fit of the saddle. Read more
Always Improving Technology for PATH Intl. Members
PATH Intl. is developing a new database to enhance the members' user experience. The PATH Intl. website links directly to a customer relationship management (CRM) system, which is the technology used to manage member relationships and interactions. Currently this database is where members manage their contact information, make purchases from the store and the tool that links those records to online directories seen on the website such as find a center and the member directory.

The new system, which is slated to launch early 2019, will offer a friendlier user interface, ability to submit instructor compliance online and the ability to submit all center renewal requirements online in one setting. The member's profile page will even be customizable!

Click here for a sneak peek at the future member experience. Watch for more information soon!
