TIME TO CELEBRATE! PATH Intl. Member of the Month
50th anniversary logo_ blue logo with green banner_ 1969 to 2019
Today we introduce you to the second of two PATH Intl. members of the month for June, Shannon Middleton!
Shannon Middleton and horse Some of you may recognize Shannon Middleton's name as the chair of the PATH Intl. Membership Outreach Committee. Being an engaged association volunteer is reason enough for her to receive this recognition, but Shannon also brings her unique heart and expertise to the role.

Shannon joined the staff at Ride on Center for Kids (ROCK), a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center in Georgetown, TX, as a speech language pathologist in 2006 after volunteering at ROCK for two years. She has an undergraduate degree in education with a specialty in speech therapy and a master's degree in communication disorders. She has over 20 years' experience including working with individuals with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, language disorder/delay, articulation/phonological disorder, cognitive impairment, stroke and head injury.  Read more
Save the Date for This Exceptional Keynote Speaker
We are only a couple of weeks away from announcing the opening of registration for the 2019 PATH Intl. Conference and Annual Meeting, presented by Title Sponsor Purina, November 8-10, in Denver, CO. This is a conference you will not want to miss. Along with all the outstanding sessions (see a few titles below), special anniversary celebration event and networking, PATH Intl. presents nationally known speaker and author Jaycee Lee Dugard as the awards luncheon keynote speaker.

Jaycee Lee Dugard and her horse Cowboy JAYC foundation logo Ms. Dugard will speak on compassion, self-care and the power of horses. She understands well that power as horses helped her heal from the trauma of abduction and years of physical and emotional abuse. She has a powerful story, and PATH Intl. is honored to have her share her story. Click here to read more.

Education Sessions
Here are just a few of the excellent education sessions you can expect at the conference. More information will be available soon on all the sessions and presenters, so stay tuned!

Fun Facts About Denver, CO
* Known as the "mile high city," Denver really is a mile high. That's 5,280 feet above sea level.
* The first permanent structure in Denver was not a hospital, bank or even house. It was a saloon, which gives you a good indication of Colorado's colorful history.
* Denver was rated as the healthiest city in the country for pets by Purina, ranking high in categories like veterinarian to pet ratio.
Membership Database FAQ Highlights
Thank you to all the members who have provided feedback on the PATH Intl. member portal. From your feedback, we have put together FAQs and created a new how-to video on renewing your membership. Here is an answer to a question that has come up:

Logging in and Resetting Password
Some members are having trouble logging in to their new portal, as their log in credentials are not being recognized and the "reset password" is not working. Most of the time, this is because the new portal password was not set up. In order to set your new password and have your login credentials recognized, you need to click on the email that was sent out on April 15 with the subject line "Welcome to PATH Intl.'s New Online Customer Portal." That email has important information about the features of the new portal, some links to handy user videos on how to navigate the  new portal, and most importantly, a link to get started by setting your new password. If you are having trouble logging in or retrieving a forgotten password, please search your email inbox for this important email, and follow the link to get your password set. If you didn't get that email, please contact Karen Province to have the email re-sent.
New Membership Levels Starting July 1
With the accreditation of the PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification, membership will no longer be required to become certified per the NCCA standards. So what will membership look like when these changes take effect? You will now be able to choose a membership level that best suits your personal situation, both financially and what benefits package best suits your needs. All membership levels will still include discounts on education, regional and international conference registration, and a subscription to PATH Intl. Strides and the eNews. Members will also still have the opportunity to contribute in the direction of the association through committee work, voting for standards, the board of trustees and the credentialing council, and by completing association surveys.

What's new?
  • From the overwhelming feedback of our membership, several of the membership levels will include free education opportunities.
  • New discount program available to all individual and center members offering discounts to over 300,000 businesses
  • New community engagement platform will replace the current Community Connections. Higher Logic was selected for its ease of use and ability to share resources.
  • New for member centers, a new platform to research available grants (similar to the Foundation Directory Online). Grantstation also has educational resources on grant writing.
  • Several membership levels will also include discounts for the new certification process.
  • A new member longevity program will expand on recognizing long-time members.
