TIME TO CELEBRATE! PATH Intl. Member of the Month
50th anniversary logo_ blue logo with green banner_ 1969 to 2019
Today we introduce you to the first of two PATH Intl. members of the month for June, Victoria Surr!

If you've been to a PATH Intl. Conference and Annual Meeting,
Morgan horse with carriage driven by Victoria Surr
Here Vici is driving her Morgan gelding FR Freedom First, "Fred." He was born in her lap 17 years ago. Now that she is retired, she is able to spend lots of time with him, doing their favorite thing, carriage driving.
you're probably already familiar with the warm smile and heart of Victoria Surr. If you haven't met her, we hope you do because she is an instant friend. She and her charming father (who at conferences literally wore a nametag that said, "Dad" or sometimes "Victoria's Dad!") always had an exhibit at the conference representing the company Freedom Rider. Victoria founded Freedom Rider and was the president of the company for 20 years. She first joined PATH Intl. over 20 years ago when she had just started the company and she wanted to support (then) NARHA by becoming a PATH Intl. Life Member. It's no surprise that when we asked what her favorite thing about belonging to the EAAT community is, her answer was, "Coming to national conferences!"  Read more
Recent Transition to the New Online Member Experience
The transition last month to the new PATH Intl. member portal and database was a huge change in the online capabilities the association is able to offer its members, and we're  excited for all the possibilities and opportunities this change brings.

Staff has been hard at work putting this new system in place so we may better serve our members and customers. We appreciate your understanding that staff response times are taking longer than usual as there has been a high volume of both phone calls and emails. Thank you for your patience during this time of change, for all of the feedback and loyalty.
Membership Database FAQ Highlights
Thank you to all the members who have provided feedback on the PATH Intl. member portal. Staff has been able to make some of the suggested changes to provide you a better user experience. From your feedback, we have put together FAQs and created a new how-to video on renewing your membership. Here are answers to two questions that have come up:

1. Where can I find the PATH Intl. Standards Manual?
You can visit the standards manual page on the PATH Intl. website by clicking here. This will give you the option of purchasing a printed copy of the PATH Intl. Standards for Certification and Accreditation or accessing the electronic copy. Both options will take you to the store. Sign in to your account to download the electronic copy (free for members). You will then find it in your downloads section.

2. Renewing Your Membership
To ensure you keep your join date and renew the appropriate membership type when renewing your membership, please go to the "Subscriptions" page, which will show you as an individual member or an instructor member. Click the green renew button. Please do not click the "Join Now" link as this will create a new membership with a new join date and does not renew your existing membership.

If you are a certified instructor, click the green renew button. Please do not click "Purchase a New Certification Application." (You only need to purchase a certification application if you are starting a certification process.) Renew your instructor membership from the "Subscriptions" page, and enter your compliance form from the "Credentials" drop-down menu on the upper right-hand side of the page.
New Membership Levels
With the accreditation of the PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification, membership will no longer be required to become certified per the NCCA standards. So what will membership look like when these changes take effect? You will now be able to choose a membership level that best suits your personal situation, both financially and what benefits package best suits your needs. All membership levels will still include discounts on education, regional and international conference registration, and a subscription to PATH Intl. Strides and the eNews. Members will also still have the opportunity to contribute in the direction of the association through committee work, voting for standards, the board of trustees and the credentialing council, and by completing association surveys.

What's new?
  • From the overwhelming feedback of our membership, several of the membership levels will include free education opportunities.
  • New discount program available to all individual and center members offering discounts to over 300,000 businesses
  • New community engagement platform will replace the current Community Connections. Higher Logic was selected for its ease of use and ability to share resources.
  • New for member centers, a new platform to research available grants (similar to the Foundation Directory Online). Grantstation also has educational resources on grant writing.
  • Several membership levels will also include discounts for the new certification process.
  • A new member longevity program will expand on recognizing long-time members.
Watch for more information on benefits and pricing, including special introductory pricing on all renewals and new joins!

Call for Scholarship Judges
PATH Intl. is now seeking volunteer judges to help in the 2019 scholarship process to read and score essays. This is a rewarding volunteer opportunity as each essay read is encouraging, challenging and inspiring.

How it works:
  • For each nomination, you will be asked to carefully read and evaluate the three submitted short essays (200 words or less).
  • Each essay is scored on a scale from 1-10.
  • The PATH Intl. office will provide clear guidelines and forms on how the nominations are to be evaluated and scored.
  • The judging process requires a time commitment of approximately 10 to 15 hours between June 21 and July 5.
Applicant Requirements:
  • Must be a PATH Intl. member in good standing
  • Must have access to a computer with internet
How to Apply:
Submit your name, member number, region and email address to Missy Dedrick.
Last Chance to Submit Your PATH Intl. Region Representatives Nominations
One of the greatest benefits of being a member of PATH Intl. is the ability to have a voice in the leadership of the EAAT industry. It's time to exercise that voice! Nominations are open for region representatives of odd numbered regions: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11.

Submit the nomination form to your region representative. Your region representative contact information can be found on the region web page

Also, don't forget to pay close attention to your region's community connections page; your region representatives will be calling for nominations and posting important information during the process.

Use your voice, today!
