PATH International Equine Services for Heroes
® Virtual Conference
PATH International Equine Services for Heroes logo Center representatives, would you like your center to be better informed to serve military veterans? The second virtual conference for 2018 will focus on veterans, military life, military culture and how to utilize this knowledge to improve lives in the field of equine-assisted activities and therapies. This event is funded in part by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Adaptive Sports Grant. As such, we are pleased to announce a lower price of $119 for members, $169 for non-members, $240 for centers, and just $29 as a thank you to our veterans!

Mark your Calendar! Registration will open June 15 and the live event will be August 28  and 29.
PATH Intl. Strides Article Author Sought
An upcoming theme of PATH Intl. Strides magazine is "Seniors." The editors have identified an interesting article topic--working with and recruiting senior center volunteers, and they are seeking an author from the membership who is interested in writing the article. Senior volunteers are an incredibly valuable resource with their wealth of professional and personal experience. If your center has experienced great success in this area, perhaps you'd be willing to write approximately 500 words by November 1, 2018, to share your expertise with readers. If interested, please email Karen Karvonen for more information.

Silent Auction Volunteers Needed
The silent auction at the PATH Intl. Conference is one of the most anticipated and fun events during the week. People are excited for the doors to open to get the first look at the scores of items offered for auction. Pens are poised for that first bid, and friendly competition gets fierce as bidders work to get in a final bid before the last call.

Now imagine if there weren't any items on those tables. Not so much fun anymore!  In order to have a silent auction, we need fantastic silent auction items, and that begins with an awesome silent auction chair and committee. We need you!

The silent auction chair obtains items prior to the conference and staffs the silent auction at the conference along with the PATH Intl. staff liaison. The chair may also recruit committee members to help obtain items and volunteer at the conference. The silent auction chair and committee will be responsible for setting up the tables, monitoring the action and closing out the auction.

If you are interested in volunteering for the silent auction and procuring items to be auctioned, contact Cher Smith, the silent auction staff liaison.

James Brady Professional Achievement Award
