Call for Judges
Are you interested in being part of this inspiring process? Any member may apply to be part of the judging process for the PATH Intl. annual awards.
The judging process requires a commitment of approximately 10 to 15 hours between June 5 and June 30. The PATH Intl. staff provides clear guidelines and forms on how the nominations are to be evaluated, and the staff also compiles the results and notifies the award recipients. You are asked to carefully read and review 2-3 short essays (200 words or less) per nomination and make objective judgments given the guidelines, and score each one from 1-10 on the form that will be provided.
The scoring results are submitted electronically so it is necessary for judges to have access to a computer and the internet.
The PATH Intl. staff will consider all individuals who submit their names for consideration. Individuals will be considered on a first come, first served basis based on distribution across the various PATH Intl. regions.
If you are interested in serving as a judge, please submit the following to
Karen Province by May 31: name, membership number, region and email address, and please confirm that you do have access to a computer and internet June 5-30 2017.

Equine Tips From the PATH Intl. Equine Welfare Committee
|
|
By Christina Horn, Member of the PATH Intl. Equine Welfare Committee
The inconsistent weather patterns here in the Northeast have undoubtedly made equine management more challenging, and as March roars in like a lion we are hopeful it will roll out like a lamb. Despite the fluctuating temperatures there is no doubt that spring must be right around the corner. The higher temperatures this time of year will bring can drastically increase parasite populations, as the warm and damp weather is ideal for egg production. Now is the time to solidify the plan of attack on the parasites that can invade your equines' intestinal system.

The PATH Intl. Equine Welfare Committee is committed to refining and deepening our perspective of equine well-being to include the physical, mental and emotional well-being of our wonderful four-legged partners. Join us on this journey. Please add your thoughts on the PATH Intl. Community Connections page. It is our desire that these tips start a further discussion on Community Connections. Any thoughts? We appreciate hearing from you!

Current and Upcoming Online Education Opportunities
|
|
PATH Intl. is committed to providing quality education to its members. We are excited to announce the launch of four new online courses produced by PATH Intl. coming this spring! Click here for the full list of online course offerings available for spring 2017.
Participants with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are the most common individuals receiving services at PATH Intl. Member Centers. This course contains a wealth of information about ASD and how it may impact participants involved in EAAT programs.
The numbers of seniors and participants with forms of dementia are on the rise at PATH Intl. Member Centers. This course has been developed to guide EAAT centers through considerations of developing a program to serve this specialized population.
Over 450 PATH Intl. Member Centers are currently serving youth-at-risk. For instructors serving youth who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect, this course aims to describe how trauma may affect EAAT participants and guide instructors on how to develop a trauma-informed approach to EAAT.
Developed for PATH Intl. Certified Professionals who are currently providing equine-assisted activities and therapies for veterans and armed services members. As many instructors and centers are providing services for veterans and military personnel, this workshop will give current instructors an opportunity to advance their skills beyond their current certification level.
