Orlando Highlights
Most of us think about theme parks when we talk about Orlando. But there are other things to do in Orlando that make it a prime destination for conference attendees. Here's a few things you might want to check out.

1. Jack Kerouac House. The famous beat author produced one of his most iconic works, The Dharma Bums, while living in his Orlando home, which is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
2. The Holy Land Experience. Okay, technically it's a theme park. But it's also a biblical museum with replicas of temples, Jerusalem, the garden tomb, and a daily recreation of the Last Supper and crucifixion.
3. The Harry P. Leu Gardens. If you prefer the natural to the supernatural, you may want to check out the Harry P. Leu Gardens with 40 acres of tropical and sub-tropical flora. The garden contains more than 2,000 plants.

Come early or stay late to enjoy what Orlando has to offer -- and that's not even counting the exceptional education sessions at the conference!

Call for Annual Award Judges
Are you interested in being part of this inspiring process? Any member may apply to be part of the judging process for the PATH Intl. annual awards.

The judging process requires a commitment of approximately 10 to 15 hours between May 21 and June 11. The PATH Intl. staff provides clear guidelines and forms on how the nominations are to be evaluated, and the staff also compiles the results and notifies the award recipients. You are asked to carefully read and review 2-3 short essays (300 words or less) per nomination and make objective judgments given the guidelines, and score each one from 1-10 on the form that will be provided.

The scoring results are submitted electronically so it is necessary for judges to have access to a computer and the internet.

The PATH Intl. staff will consider all individuals who submit their names. Judges will be selected on a first come, first served basis based on distribution across the various PATH Intl. regions.

If you are interested in serving as a judge, please submit the following to Missy Dedrick by May 11: name, membership number, region and email address, and please confirm that you do have access to a computer and internet.
James Brady Professional Achievement Award
Nominations are now open for the PATH Intl. James Brady Professional Achievement Award. The deadline to submit is June 29, 2018. Click here for more information and criteria. The winner of this prestigious award will be announced during the international conference.

Your Horse Could Be a Star!
The PATH Intl. Equine Welfare Committee is looking for a program horse to profile in a two-part webinar on senior horse management. The first part of the webinar will cover nutrition and other important senior horse management factors. The second part will cover emotional and behavioral changes as horses age. If you have a senior horse in your program (age 15+) that has presented some health, management and behavioral challenges as he or she has aged, and you would be willing to have the Equine Welfare Committee profile this horse for educational purposes, we would love to hear from you!  Please have your program director contact PATH Intl. Education Coordinator Rachel Moore to share your interest in participating.
