Celebrating 50 Years! Member of the Month: Elizabeth Karmann
|
|
Elizabeth Karrmann from Green Bay, Wisconsin, is the first PATH Intl. member of the month for September! Elizabeth from Exceptional Equestrians is by no means new to EAAT but a relatively new member of PATH Intl. (first joined In January 2019), she says, "only after realizing I should have joined years ago!"
Elizabeth says her favorite thing about belonging to the EAAT community is, "I love the sense of community you find in an EAAT barn. Everyone is united by the same goals and love for horses." Her first career was as the equine manager for a therapeutic riding program. "I started volunteering with the local therapeutic riding center as soon as I turned 14. I was a horse-crazy kid desperate for any chance possible to interact with horses. Volunteering with the program was a huge part of my life and my decision to get my degree in animal science." You may have noticed new people answering the phone or discovered your favorite PATH Intl. staff
member is no longer here. PATH Intl. is going through a transition as we work toward independent accreditation of the Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) certification; grapple with a new database; and face the lowest unemployment rate in 30 years. This has caused us to reorganize staff, eliminating positions while adding others. In addition, we have had experienced staff moving on to new opportunities, and we've faced some challenges in filling open positions.
We currently have four positions open: Education Supervisor, Education Representative and two Credentialing Representative positions. If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact Kandis Branum.
If you are experiencing longer wait times than usual to speak to someone or have a question answered, know we are working diligently to fill these positions and be responsive to membership. We ask for your patience while we are addressing these challenges and filling these positions.

Highlights:
Today we highlight a few sessions geared toward those who had the original spark to start a center and carry it forward: the administrators, directors and all-around multi-hat wearers. Learn how your center can grow and run smoothly with these sessions:
The Work of Teamwork: Becoming a High-Functioning Team
With speaker
Melissa Conner, explore Patrick Lencioni's five dysfunctions of a team in the context of a PATH Intl. center. Leave energized with fresh vision for leading healthier teams of staff, volunteers, board members and donors.
Cultivate and Multiply: The Simple 5-Step Framework for Effectively Gaining New Champions for Your Center
Adam Bocik and
Amanda Bocik will show you how to cultivate relationships so you can win more major gifts, program revenue and dedicated volunteers. Asking the right questions, presenting the right content and telling the right stories will result in higher donor gift rates, better stakeholder experiences and increased rider satisfaction.
Your Vital Role in Your Board's Accountability
Executive directors report to their board, so how can you influence the direction and accountability of your board? Explore these engagement actions with PATH Intl. Board of Trustees Member
KC Henry.
Are you ready to party? Make sure to select Anniversary Reception while registering (additional ticket required) to attend this special event celebrating the association's 50th anniversary. This reception is sponsored by the Official 50th Anniversary Sponsors Colorado State University and The Temple Grandin Equine Center.

One of the most fun things at conference is the videos shown throughout the event. This year, we are putting a little different spin on it. Feel free to submit your fun videos (not promotional videos, please) that highlight your center, your professionals and your participants.
But also submit videos wishing PATH Intl. a happy anniversary. We will highlight the videos at the conference and also on the PATH Intl. Facebook page and YouTube channel. Submit videos to Cher Smith,
csmith@pathintl.org.
Let us see what you do!
