Dear EZ-ACCESS Dealer,
Due to supply chain challenges, rising costs, etc., we set out this year to identify and implement a number of efficiencies primarily in our procurement, manufacturing, and shipping departments. Our goal is to mitigate as many negative affects these challenges have on both our business and yours. We have a dedicated committee of people working to develop strategies - especially for our highest volume product lines - to produce the greatest impact. As of late, this has become an even greater focus as resources such as aluminum and gas continue to skyrocket.
One change that we would like to make you aware of, which you will notice soon, is the switch to a welded lower handrail on PATHWAY 3G two-line handrails. Currently, the lower handrail tube has an insert at each end that allows the tube to be connected to the ramp handrail posts via bolts and washers (FIG. 1). Moving forward, each end of the lower handrail will be permanently welded to the ramp handrail posts (FIG. 2). This also means that closures will now be attached to the ramp handrail posts via self-tapping screws rather than the bolt and washer that affixed the lower tube to the ramp handrail post (closure kit hardware bags have been updated to include these self-tapping screws).
To eliminate the cost associated with unnecessary drilling, we have also removed all additional holes from the ramp handrail posts on two-line handrails. This change also eliminates the need for ‘bee plugs’ in ramp handrail posts.
