Longhouse Council - Pathways - August 5, 2022
Vol. #4 Issue #30
Attention Lords, Ladies, and Knights of the Realm
Notices from the Kingdom’s Center (Council)!
Let ye be warned, the Early Bird (in Pecatonica Rivers Popcorn (PRP) system as Show and Sell – more to come below) orders are due on Monday, 8/8/2022 (hint this coming Monday), by 12pm-noon! We will not be able to process any late orders in time for PRP to ship for us!
Please be aware of the names of orders in the Pecatonica Rivers Popcorn (PRP) website. The current order – normally Early Bird – is labeled as Show and Sell. The actual Show and Sell order (due for placing 9/15/2022 by 12pm-noon) will be known as S&S1. The reason for the order names is due to a formula constraint set by PRP’s database this year. The names of the orders will not affect your unit’s orders, it is just something to be aware of. Also, a reminder that the current order is in whole cases, don’t fret, if you order too much, you will have it to sell for the second phase order/show and sell.
Finally, please note in the tasting kit a interesting find with the Kettle Corn! The Kettle Corn in the tasting kits (first silver bag on top of each box of the tasting kits with the code ending in 08353) was defectively packaged at the PRP warehouse. That does not mean it is wholly dangerous! What that means is that sole product (no others in the tasting kit) were packaged without the “nitrogen flush” shelf stability process. But what does that mean? Well, the Kettle Corn is not safe for storage (1+ week) and/or consumption after storage – as the tasting kits were stored at Council for a bit, we are advising all units that currently have tasting kits, or are getting them soon, NOT TO SAMPLE, the Kettle Corn in current. PRP is working on sending use new SHELF STABLE Kettle Corn.

Did you know Scouts can get a pre-completed
Eagle Scout Application from Scoutbook?
An Eagle Application report is available in Scoutbook. It is available on the Scout Reports menu to anyone with a Full Access connection to the Scout, or to the Scout their self. The report is the official BSA Eagle Application. It is an editable PDF, filled in with information contained in Scoutbook, including merit badges, leadership positions, and various dates. It must be downloaded to your computer before editing. The Scout should make sure that all information is correct, and to complete all other required information on the application.

Every Scout regardless of the program they are in that recruits a friend to join Scouting will receive a special super recruiter patch.
Plus, every unit that has increased their membership by 10% (minimum of five new Scouts) will receive the Recruitment Heroes Council Shoulder Patch for the whole unit. Click below for more info.
