Eagle Dinner

Calling all Class of 2022 Eagles and Eagle Scouts from prior years to attend the Annual Recognition and Reunion Dinner on January 12, 2023.
We are excited to announce that this year’s Keynote Speaker will be Eagle Scout and New York State Assemblyman and Senator-Elect Mark Walczyk and we will also recognize our National Eagle Scout Association Outstanding Eagle Scout Honorees Donald Doerr and Nathan Andrews.
Here are the details for the Annual Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner:
- When: Thursday, January 12, 2023; Reception: 6:30pm; Dinner and Program: 7:00pm
- Where: DoubleTree by Hilton 6301 State Route 298 East Syracuse, NY (near Carrier Circle)
- Cost: $50.00 per plate (No Charge for Class of 2022 Eagle Scout)
- Dinner Menu: Served are Tossed Garden Salad with choice of dressings, Warm Dinner Rolls and Butter.
Buffet – Baked Ziti, Herb Roasted Chicken with a Gluten Free Red Pepper Sauce, Sliced London Broil, Red Roasted Potatoes, Chef’s Vegetables.
Dessert Served at table: Brownies and Cookies.

It is that time of year again.
Time to log in and submit your unit charter renewals!
Units should use the "Refresh Roster" to ensure all updates that have occurred since the initial charter download are included in their renewal. This can be used multiple times during process but should be done again as the last step immediately before the charter is submitted to catch all updates and additions to your charter already processed to that point.
It is strongly recommended that you complete the entire process electronically to prevent the requirement for manual review and possible delays, but the Pay at Council option is still available if you need to use it. (The online payments do have affiliated processing fees: 3% for credit cards, but only a $1 fee if you choose to use the ACH echeck payment option.)
Using the online payment options with an auto-post eligible renewal requiring no attachments for new registrations actually automatically moves your charter straight to pre-posted status when you submit it. This triggers immediate automatic January 1st completion and seamless access for you to all online tools including Scoutbook and My.Scouting without being added to the queues for manual payment processing or paperwork review. Payment to the office causes the requirement to manually process the payment and then manually send it on to the processing center for their action, so those charters will be queued twice which does make that a slower completion process option.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scouts BSA Troops in order to be considered “trained”.
Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
This one-and-a-half day course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities. BALOO training consists of an online pre-requisite component in addition to an overnight hands on practical. BSA’s Cub Scout level camping policies will be taught along with the discovery of the necessary tools to help units carry our a successful camping experience. Completion of this course is mandatory for a MINIMUM OF ONE adult on a Pack overnighter.

Klondike Derby and Snowbox Derby!
Scouts BSA Klondike on 2/4/23 at Camp Woodland. There will be a fun filled day of activities including an adult cooking competition - who can make the best chili? Signup on tentaroo 1/3/2023.
If troops wish to camp there are some cabins still available.
Cub Scout Snow Box Derby on 2/5/23 at Camp Woodland. There will be a day of fun filled activities for Cub Scouts of all ages, which will include a snowbox sled judging competition and a fun race for all. All scouts that wish to participate in sledding activities of any kind will need to bring a helmet (bike helmet is fine). We suggest units or dens work together to make sleds -however signup is either individual or by unit. Signup on tentaroo 1/3/2023 .

Don't let the long winter turn you blue....we have something just for you! Save the date! Saturday February 25, 2023 we will be holding a Merit Badge and Cub Adventure Day in Central Square!!
Merit badges may include: Animation, Graphic Arts, Digital Technology, Programming, Chess, Game Design, Coin Collecting, Collections, Stamp Collecting, Photography and Genealogy. So start getting your collections ready.
For the Cubs we are hoping to offer a Lion program as well as Tiger Elective Adventure: Stories in Shapes & Tiger-iffic! For Wolves, Wolf Elective Adventure: Adventures in Coins and Wolf Yo-Yo. For Bears, Bear Elective Adventure: Marble Madness & Yo-Yo. For the Webelos/AOL Elective Adventure Art Explosion & Game Design and for Webelos Elective Preview Adventure Protect Yourself Rules & Yo-Yo too!
There will also be information on how many of these can time into the Nova program. You are not going to want to miss this! More information in JAnuary once our counselor timeframes are firm.
