Silver Beaver Nominations
The Silver Beaver is a national award presented by the Longhouse Council. It is among the highest honors that can be bestowed on a volunteer leader by a local council.
The Silver Beaver is presented for noteworthy service of exceptional character by councils to registered adult volunteers within the territory under the jurisdiction of a local council. Nominations and all supporting materials must be received at the Council Service Center by close of business on the last Friday of March each year. Electronic submissions should be sent to [email protected] .

Troop 114 has FUN with STEM
On January 6th Troop 114 traveled up to OCC to learn about Physics.
Dr. Laura Chappel who is an ASM with the Troop held class and gave the members off Troop 114 a crash adventure in Physics.
The Drones are Coming
This summer Sabattis Scout Reservation plans to launch a new program that involves flying drones. We are looking for a few drone enthusiast to help us plan and implement this high tech and timely program. Candidates must be 16 years old or older and preferably have a Drone flight certificate or other pilots course. Drones are everywhere these days and Central New York has one of the largest Drone test areas in the country.

Cub Scouts Enjoy the Outdoors in Winter Too.
There is no better time to enjoy the outdoors than winter. In January and February each District is hosting an event for Cub Scouts to get out and enjoy the outdoors in the winter. There will be games, crafts, sled races, snowball challenges, and of course hot chocolate. Plan to attend a Cub Scout winter event and let your Scouts learn some new skills and have some fun as well.
Scouts BSA Klondike Derby
Every winter Scouts from Troops across the Council attend local Klondike Derbies and compete in the great outdoors. Scouts face the challenges of standard Scout events with the added difficulty of winter. Learn to start a fire in the snow, rescue someone who has fallen through the ice, and how to prevent hypothermia. Winter can be a real challenge, but once you have the skills. Winter can be as much fun as summer if not more. So, plan to attend your local Klondike Derby and have some winter FUN.
Scottish International Patrol Jamborette
Imagine spending 10 days camping in Scotland!
 Explore Glasgow and Edinburgh for 2-3 days both pre and post Jamborette. At the Jamborette you will be paired with a Scottish patrol and live as a 'joint patrol', then go home with a Scottish Scout for up to 5 days and meet up as a group in Bishopton, near Glasgow.
There will be about 1500 Scouts and Scouters at camp from all over the world
