Council Service Center Hours
In our ongoing struggle to ensure we are meeting the needs of the Scouts, Scouters, and Scouting families in the Council, while simultaneously ensuring we are fiscally responsible with the funds we raise every year from the community. We have made the decision to change the Council Service Center hours.
Starting this Friday (11/6) and till further notice the Council Service Center will be closed every Friday. The Scout Shop will remain open on Fridays. We hope that this will be a temporary change to our schedule and that very soon we will be able to return to business as usual.

Veteran’s Day November 11th
Scouts, on Veteran’s Day November 11th United Radio and SAAB are hosting a celebration for their first flag raising on their new flag poles at 5717 Enterprise Pkwy. They would love to have a BSA color guard for the ceremony, and a bugler if available. If you and/or your Scouts are interested in helping with this event, please contact Ed Theetge at 315-463-0201 x109 or Edwin.theetge@scouting.org
Online Popcorn Sale
Take your online sale to the next level. Having a hard time getting friends and family to share your online popcorn sale?
Pick up a bunch of the new popcorn door hangers and hand them out in your neighborhood and watch your sale grow. Simply replace the code on the bottom of the hanger with your own and hand them out.

Telling Your BSA Story 
Do you enjoy your Scouting experience? Then why not share it with others? Sharing your experience will show others the fun and values of Scouting, and could bring new members to your unit.   
What Stories Can We Tell About Scouting? 
• An amazing camping experience
• A fun activity, such as a Pinewood Derby, parade, etc.
• Achievements, including awards and rank advancement
• An interesting merit badge class
• An Eagle Project or other community service, such as Scouting for Food or Clean Sweep (litter removal)
• Unit historical events (first female Eagle Scout, third generation Eagle Scout, etc.)
• A Scout who did a good deed or showed heroism
• Other examples of Scouts having fun or putting the Scout Oath or Law into action
If you want to recognize your Scouts, if you want to recruit new members to your unit or if you just want to tell a good BSA story, consider spending a little bit of time to create and post positive and engaging stories in social media. In doing so, you might just discover a new passion.

Useful Forms to Help You Get Your Unit Meeting Again.
As we try and find ways for units to find some normalcy in the everyday things. We have put together a few things that may help you develop a plan to start meeting or host an activity. It may seem a big task but it really is just a few changes and safety steps and you can be back to business as usual.
27th Annual Scout-O
For the 27th year in a row​, the Central New York Orienteering Club is happy to offer an opportunity for Scouts and other youth groups to learn and practice the art of using a map and compass. This year will be a little different. Instruction by CNYO club members will be available for beginners, by appointment, on November 14 and 15. Self-serve map hikes are available for experienced groups starting November 7th. 
There will be NO overnight camping, extra activities for younger scouts, or a patrol competition this year.

(Closed every weekday from 1:30-2:00 for lunch)
You do not need an appointment to shop at the Scout Shop. 
You are welcome to come in anytime.
