Longhouse Council - Pathways - November 8, 2019
Vol. #1 Issue #19
Tuesday December 3rd, 2019
Giving Tuesday is your opportunity to share with your friends and family the great program that is Scouting and how you support it everyday.
Holiday cards for heroes:
A service project for our service members
Interested in sending holiday cards from your pack, troop or crew to our service members overseas? Contact your nearest VA location ,   local Red Cross office  or participate in  this effort   from the United Soldiers and Sailors of America.
And remember that there are plenty of heroes closer to home, too. Take time during the holidays to thank first responders, reservists, teachers and military veterans.
Scouting For Food
Scouting for Food is an annual food drive sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America. It is part of our program that emphasizes our slogan “Do a Good Turn Daily”. Since 1988, millions of Scouts, nation wide, have participated in this effort.
This year the Council Service Center will be a drop off location for food. Starting November 1st and going till November 19th, anyone can drop off non-perishable food and we will deliver it to local Food pantries.
Would your unit like to do this yourselves? We have door hangers and other supplies available contact the office for more info.
We NEED Your GOOD News
We are always looking for local news stories that we can share with the whole Council or to other News Outlets. So, we are asking you, you , and you to please share your good news with us. The news needs to be Scout related (of course). But, ideas can be showcasing camping programs, team development, environmental stewardship, and/or community involvement. So, do a short write up (no more than two paragraphs) and any photos, to show your good news and we will use it in one of our weekly newsletters.
Send your Good news to [email protected] or [email protected] .
