Job Title: Customer Service & District Program Support


Position location: Syracuse, NY


Responsibilities:

·   Interact with customers, internal and external, to supply information. Receive, evaluate, and answer customer inquiries. Handle customer complaints, product returns, and special requests via phone, paper, e-mail, and the Internet. Process orders and resolve issues. Requires a broad range of administrative, editorial, and basic research skills.

·   Provide membership support by processing member applications and renewals. Maintain the membership database, mailing lists, and records. Answer inquiries, prepare correspondence, and register members/customers via telephone, internet, and direct mail. Coordinate communications and marketing literature distribution. Maintain an inventory of marketing materials.

·   Provide administrative support to organize, plan, produce, and register participants for events, functions, fundraising activities, meetings, and programs. Assist with supplies and services logistics. Support and assist with facility selection, registration, communications, and audio/visual equipment for organization meetings and special events.

·   Supports district leadership by performing assigned administrative tasks. These may include preparing, collating, distributing, copying, filing, scanning, mailing, emailing, and faxing paperwork, labeling and organizing files, and making and confirming meeting room reservations.

·   Provide office function support by typing, filing, data entry, reception, copying, mail distribution, inventory control, records management, sorting and distributing mail, preparing outgoing mail, weighing, calculating postage, and posting letters and parcels. Record postage charges and renew the postage meter as required.  

 

Education: A high school diploma is required; some college is preferred.

The opportunity to seal your membership by completing your Brotherhood trail will be held at Camp Woodland on Saturday November 9th.

  

All Ordeal level members inducted 6 or more months ago are eligible to complete the trail.  

All other members are invited to attend for fellowship and planning for future events.  

Officers from the Section will be presenting leadership training during the morning as well. Come out and meet them.



Lunch will be provided.

Wood Badge is considered the premier leadership training course for Scout Leaders. Wood Badge for the 21st Century is available to registered leaders of all levels of the Scouting program – Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouts. It concentrates on providing training on modern leadership skills needed in today’s world for Scout leaders. Wood Badge Training will not only make you a better Scout Leader, it will also assist you in improving your personal and professional life as well.

Happy Fall Foliage everyone!

With Scouting in full swing, We're excited for the year of events coming up, and some other things to note.


In the next 3 months, we have: 

Brotherhood, October 18th - 20th, at Wellesley Island State Park.


Troops, and AOL's sponsored with a Troop, camp all weekend for international fellowship.


$25/person, will get event patch and trading patch.


Cub Scouts attend for free on Saturday only! All others who are looking to attend for Saturday only, $15/person, everyone will get an event patch. More patches available for purchase. 


Friday settle in and browse the Trading Post. Saturday, an variety of activities from Range Activities, Helicopters, Military Displays, Patch Trading, and more, all ending with a campfire program by the 10th mountain Rock Band.

$15/youth, working on 3 Eagled Required and 2 Elective Merit Badges!


$30/adult, working on completing BLS Provider CPR and Wilderness First Aid Training, instructed primarily by Mike Hinman!

Looking for a part time employee to join our team.

Looking for someone who knows the scouting program, can sew/hem and has some retail experience. Hours would be between 8 to 20 hours per week, and Store hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 10am-5pm, Wednesday 11am -6pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm.
