PAWESOME NEWS

YOUR DONATIONS AT WORK!

Meet Carlito, a one-year-old charmer with an undeniable talent for giving the best hugs!

Take a moment to gaze into his big brown eyes, then try telling us you can resist bringing him home. SPOILER ALERT: it’s impossible!

Carlito likes dogs, cats, and people. He’s a smart boy who already knows his basic commands and would love to learn a lot more, especially if treats are involved.

Carlito's only requirement is any kids in the home must be 12 years and older.

Because of donors like you, we can ensure that all the animals that pass through our shelter will always have a place to call home (in between their forever homes). Your support helps us to care for animals like Tonto, providing above-and-beyond rescue care to animals with extra medical needs.

Another 2023 recipient of our Above and Beyond Rescue Care awards was Shannon Lenz.

The person that nominated Shannon told us: “I can't even begin to list all of the ways Shannon goes Above and Beyond for our animals. In addition to her regular Tuesday Cattery shift, she organizes all our incoming donations, tracks them for internal audit purposes, and coordinates with other local rescue groups to share excess resources with others in need. Shannon is an extraordinary event volunteer, often bringing her teenage daughter to continue her spirit of giving. She is a WSHS adopter, and also a foster for our animals. And if that isn't enough, she was a top fundraiser at our recent Barkapalooza event, raising more than $1,100 to help our dogs and cats.

Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized for going Above and Beyond for our animals? Fill out a form in the Volunteer Breakroom or nominate someone online here:
