Meet R&B - a petite gal with a BIG personality and a crazy story. A few months ago, she secretly hitched a ride on a Room and Board truck in Minneapolis. When she arrived in Chicago, she was malnourished, and was brought to WSHS. When she got here she had a surprise in store - she was pregnant! She was promptly sent to foster care and gave birth to four kittens. Now her babies are grown and have been adopted, so she is finally looking for a forever home! She's tired of leading such an exciting life and is looking for a home where she can settle down.

She does not enjoy the company of other cats, but she is a sweet girl with humans who gain her trust. She is young, playful, talkative, intelligent, and very curious! She'd prefer a home without small children because she likes to have her space when she needs it, but she would thrive in a home with adults or older children who will respect her boundaries. Could that home be yours?

We are thrilled to announce a special Therapy Dog Program presentation in collaboration with Enjoy Your Dog Professional Training

Discover the incredible benefits of therapy dogs and how they bring joy and comfort to those in need. Whether you're a dog lover, interested in training your dog for therapy work, or just curious about the program, this presentation is for you!

You will come away knowing:

1. How therapy dogs have an impact on the community.
2. What type of dog makes a good therapy dog.
3. What type of training is needed.
4. How much time do you need to commit.
5. What you need to do to get started on this exciting opportunity.

Kick off the holiday season by joining us for our annual Pawction event at the WSHS adoption center. This fun-filled evening will include tacos, beer and wine, along with some fun games!

While you don't have to be present to bid on our auction, why join us at the shelter to browse the auction catalog in person and meet some of the adorable and adoptable cats and dogs we are raising money for!
