JANUARY 2023

PAWESOME NEWS

Happy New Year!

We hope that your 2023 is off to a great start!

2022 was a great year for adoptions. 512 of our animals found their forever homes, including 302 Cats & Kittens and 210 Dogs & Puppies

In addition, we have 38 Cats and 27 Dogs in foster homes, living 'the good life' while they wait for their families to find them!

We are busy making plans for the new year, with new events (including February's "Girl's Night Out" and "Yoga with Adoptables" in March. We also have some amazing Humane Education programs, including "Dinner & a Movie" on January 27th, Our "Cat Tales" program for young readers, and more!

As we plan for the rest of the year, we'd love to hear from YOU! Please take this quick survey to let us know what types of events you would be interested in participating in or volunteering at (if you completed this survey previously as a volunteer or Adopter, no need to complete it again!)

Adoptable Prince Zuko has a lot of personality in his little body and has good manners, too! He can be goofy and fun, or focused and ready for what comes next. At 1 year old and 35 pounds, this low rider is fully grown and looking for his soul mate!

Please help us rescue more animals like Barney.

Barney is a redtick coonhound who was first adopted from WSHS in 2011 at just three months old. A playful puppy with lots of energy, he spent twelve years with a great family!

One of the commitments we make to our animals is that we will always take them back if their "forever family" can't care for them for any reason, and he was returned to us last year.

When Barney came back to us, he needed extra care. He has severe GI issues, requiring medication and a special diet. In December, he was diagnosed with diabetes, resulting in more adjustments to his diet and medications, including insulin.

Barney is a lucky dog, and a very good boy! We found him an amazing foster family, who tells us that his favorite activities are napping and supervising dinner prep, and that he even helps with the chores by making sure there are no crumbs on the carpet!

Adoptable Peak is a 2-year-old domestic shorthair, and is much more than another pretty feline face!

She is a confident, modern girl who clearly communicates her likes and dislikes. She has a playful side too, and loves hanging out with people who enjoy feather toys as much as she does!
