Meet Judy Vrabel, EO of the Builders Association of Fayette County

How long have you been an EO? "I became Executive Officer on September 10, 2010. I began this part-time position after retiring from our local hospital with 30 years of service. I considered just being here for a year. Time has certainly gone by quickly."
What do you like best about being an EO? "I have enjoyed working with our incredible members. Meeting other EOs by attending association management seminars and other activities held by PBA and NAHB has been so rewarding and very informative."
What is a “fun fact” about you that no one may know? "No one knows but even though I fly quite often, I am very frightened to fly. My sons live in Florida, so I visit quite often."
One in 21: Starts With You

Membership supports the long-term, sustainable growth of our Federation and every member has the power to make an impact. In 2021, we’re encouraging HBAs to focus on membership growth with us and inspire members to get involved. ONE in 21 is a new campaign to empower all members to take part in the recruitment and retention process – one member at a time.

ONE in 21 signals that even just one membership touch can make a difference. One simple conversation can lead to another, and another, and it goes on like a ripple effect. This is not a call to action for only our top recruiters, but for all members. Peer to peer recruitment and retention works, and participation equals value for your HBA. Strengthening membership can only make us stronger in pursuit of our mission. Together we’ll engage, recruit and retain smarter than we ever have before.

Use the campaign graphics in your HBA communications, on your website and on social media to promote recruitment and retention success to your members. Whether it comes from a local HBA directly, or a fellow member, it is important to start the ONE in 21 conversation. With the NAHB Spring Leadership Meeting around the corner, now is a great time to download and use the “Recruit 1 in 2021” virtual background to show your support.

June is National Homeownership Month
Home is now more important than ever. National Homeownership Month in June is an opportunity to remind consumers about the evolving role of the home and its importance in our lives. NAHB has developed materials to help you highlight positive messages about the home building industry and provide consumers with information on the benefits of homeownership.

Check out the National Homeownership Month Tool Kit here.
