Meet Michele Bagnoni
Executive Officer
BA of Northwestern PA

Michele Bagnoni officially began her position as the Executive Officer for the BA of Northwestern PA on September 7. She was able to dip her toe into the job for a couple days but then Michele had a previously planned event on September 11 - her wedding! Congratulations!

After returning from her honeymoon, Michele rolled up her sleeves and really got things rolling on September 27.

A native of Erie, Michele explained that she has had an interesting career.

"I started at Second Harvest Food Bank (non-profit) where I was the Events Coordinator for 5 years; then Channellock (Hand Tools) where I was the Communications and Training Manager for 5 years; Loyal Christian Benefit Association (Life Insurance) where I was VP Membership & Marketing for 5 years; Bickford Senior Living (Healthcare) Community Relations Director for 1 year; and now I am here."

Michele is hitting the ground running by setting goals for herself to get out and meet members to find out how and what the BA can do to help them. She plans to make connections in the community to help get the word out about the association in order to gain new members and let the public know to connect with them "instead of Angie's List!" In addition, she plans to revamp the website and marketing materials.

"The people, the members, and everyone who I have had contact with so far have been so welcoming and helpful," she said.

When she's not working, family time is important to Michele who quickly admits that she has a "super close Italian family that still does Sunday dinner every week." As a newlywed, she is enjoying time with her husband, David, and her stepchildren Morgan (16) and Aiden (13). And, of course, there's the family dog, Mya. She loves to travel and go to concerts and is usually up for any kind of adventure.

Welcome, Michele!
Please reach out and welcome Michele!

"My office hours vary because I am out and about in the community but I am always accessible via email or if you call the office number it is pushed to my cell phone and 99% of the time I answer it."
A Note from Dan Durden

It’s that time of the year once again. A link to PBA’s statement relating to the deductibility (or non-deductibility) of 2022 member dues for federal tax purposes can be found HERE. It is important that you communicate this information directly to your local members. Please note that our letter only applies to the PBA portion of member dues. If you have questions regarding the PBA letter, don’t hesitate to contact me directly.

Unfortunately, we do not yet have NAHB’s 2202 letter addressing dues deductibility for national dues. We presume that their letter will be forthcoming in the near future. You may want to make sure you monitor NAHB Connect.

You will need both PBA’s state figure and NAHB’s national figure in order to properly calculate the full accurate amount for your local members. If you have any questions about the deductibility of NAHB dues, you will need to reach out directly to NAHB.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER - For the last few years NAHB has not used individual emails or letters to communicate their deductibility figure. They’ve done it via the NAHB Connect EOC list serve and/or the EOC Friday Morning Email.
Building Pennsylvania

The latest issue of PBA's Building Pennsylvania has been sent to all members and local associations. The edition is packed with useful information on programs and benefits. It's a great recruitment tool.

In order to cut down on costs, this will be the last print publication produced. PBA is developing an e-newsletter that will be sent to all members.
