CERTS Portal Open Through July 19!
US Department of Treasury has opened the CERTS Portal.  The guidelines have been revised since they were first published, so motorcoach operators are encouraged to review the new document.  The deadline to apply is July 19.  Read more...
Anderson Coach Donates Bus to Charity 
Myron's Meal Mobile, a converted school bus donated by PBA member Anderson Coach and Travel of Greenville, underwent a complete interior transformation, with work completed late last summer.  Because of pandemic restrictions, the crew was not able to use the bus until this year.  Read more...

Trans-Bridge Resumes Wall Street Run
PBA member, Trans-Bridge Lines is happy to announce it resumed service to the Wall Street section of Lower Manhattan on June 7.  The route was suspended in March of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The resumption of service comes exactly one year after Trans-Bridge resumed limited service to New York's Port Authority Bus Terminal on June 8, 2020.  Schedules have been posted to the company's website.

Lancer Insurance: Three-Part Driver Effectiveness Training for Your Team
PBA member Lancer Insurance Company created a three-part series of Driver Effectiveness Training modules that were live-streamed during the UMA Motorcoach EXPO in Orlando. Prevost Participates in First-Ever Busworld North America Digital Summit Event
PBA member, Prevost participated in the first-ever Busworld North America Digital Summit with contributions on the Top Executive Panel.

Mike McDonal Receives ABA's Prestigious Safety Award
Congratulations to fellow PBA member Mike McDonal of Saucon Technologies on winning the prestigious Norm Littler Memorial Safety Award from the American Bus Association (ABA). 

Mike will be presenting at our Motorcoach Safety & Preparedness Workshop on August 11th.

TEMSA Sees Growing Interest in Its 30-Foot TS30 Coach

PA Legislature Ends Gov. Wolf's Pandemic Disaster Emergency Declaration
Using the powers voters awarded them last month, the state Legislature's Republican majorities brought a sudden end Thursday to Gov. Tom Wolf's pandemic disaster declarations.  The Senate also approved a bill to keep waivers of state regulations put in place because of the pandemic in effect through September 30, 2021.  Read more...

Biden Wants Amtrak To Run More Trains in the Northeast  
As part of the billions Biden wants to spend on train projects, in his American Jobs Plan, he wants to improve service and "connect new city pairs" on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, the network of commuter trains connecting hubs from Boston to Washington, D.C. That, according to Amtrak, Pennsylvania politicians and Biden himself, would aim to include the resumption of passenger train service connecting New York and Allentown, the third-largest city in Pennsylvania and the heart of the quickly growing Lehigh Valley.  Read more...
Collins Presses for CERTS Funding To Be Expedited
At an Appropriations Committee hearing, U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Ranking Member of the Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, urged Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Pete Buttigieg to expedite the distribution of COVID-19 relief funding for the bus, motorcoach, and passenger vessel industries.  Read more...
Pelosi Rejects Gas Tax to Cover Infrastructure Costs  
Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that she opposes an increase in the gas tax as a way to pay for new infrastructure projects, joining other liberals in her caucus in rejecting a potential provision of a nascent public works package being negotiated in the Senate.   Read more...

USDOT Announced Nuria Fernandez as Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration  
The U.S. Department of Transportation today announced Nuria Fernandez has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the 15th Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). Fernandez is also the first Senate-confirmed woman of color to lead FTA, and the first confirmed Administrator in over a decade. She was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on June 10, 2021.  Read more...

Yosemite National Park Lifts Restrictions for Motorcoaches Capacity  
Yosemite has lifted their restrictions for CUA holders when entering the National Park. This includes capacity restriction lifted and motorcoaches are now allowed to stop at major viewing locations which had been prohibited. Motorcoach operators must have a valid and current 2021 CUA to enter the park. However, each motorcoach company is limited to three motorcoaches in the park per day.  Read more...
