ABC Companies Announces New Territory Manager
ABC Companies is happy to announce and welcome their new Northeast Territory Manager, Keith Treasure, to the ABC Team! Keith recently joined the team and has already been hitting the pavement traveling with the ABC Parts Source Sales Team. He will be managing all Parts sales for Coach and Transit in the Northeastern States. Keith comes from 23 years of experience in the heavy truck parts business; having many roles beginning with parts delivery, inside and outside sales, to managing branch operations. He is very excited to join the ABC family.

Pennsylvania Recruiting Anyone With Commercial Driver’s License To Help Ease School Bus Driver Shortage
If you have a commercial driver’s license and live in Pennsylvania, Gov. Tom Wolf wants you. On Thursday, officials talked about steps they’re taking to ease the school bus driver shortage and to protect in-person learning. The Wolf administration is not only trying to keep kids safe in schools right now, but they’re also trying to make sure they get to and from school amid a statewide school bus driver shortage. House Republicans Moved Proposal Forward to Circumvent the Governor and Give Pennsylvania Voters to Determine Elections
The House State Government Committee advanced a proposed constitutional amendment that would severely limit mail in ballot voting and require voters to present “valid identification.” Its unclear at this time what would be considered “valid identification,” additional details would be laid out in separate legislation. Philadelphia Won’t Lift Mask Mandate for Businesses ‘Until Pandemic Is Well Under Control’
The Wolf Administration today announced $3 million in funding through the Driving PA Forward - Truck & Bus Fleet Grant Program (formerly the Class 8 Truck and Transit Bus Grant Program). Funding for the grant program comes from the Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund (as a result of a settlement against Volkswagen) and the Zero Emission Vehicle Fund.

February 7, 2022: Education Requirements for Obtaining a CDL Will Change
Compliance with the new Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) rule is quickly approaching. As of February 7, 2022, the education requirements will change for an individual who wants to:
- Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL);
- Upgrade a CDL; or
- Obtain a passenger, school bus or hazmat endorsement.

FMCSA Report Finds Positive Driver Drug Tests Up Nearly 13 Percent
Data released by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) gathered from its Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse showed the number of positive driver drug tests through August 2021 increased by nearly 13 percent when compared with a year ago, according to a monthly summary report. FMCSA Advised to Give Drivers 90 Days to Replace Recalled CPAP Devices
A medical advisory board to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has recommended that medical examiners be permitted to offer truck drivers alternative treatment options to sleep apnea machines that are subject to a massive recall.
The advisory board recommended that examiners be given up to 90 days to find options that can provide the same level of treatment as the Philips Respironics continuous positive airway pressure machines that are being pulled from the market. Read more...
