PBA Past Chair, Deacon Joseph J. Wrabel
We are sad to share the announcement that Deacon Joseph Wrabel passed away.  Deacon Wrabel was the PBA Chair from 1999-2005 and Co-Owner and Chief Financial Officer of Capital Trailways Bus Company.  May he Rest In Peace.  You can read his obituary here.

We are also so sad to share the passing of long-time member and industry friend, Rose Marie Wertz.

John Bailey Announces Results of Election 
On June 3rd, PBA held a virtual General Member Meeting to conduct the Board of Director elections. Voting members were invited to attend and were sent a secret ballot via a third-party election administration company to vote during the meeting.  ICYMI - the results are in.

PA Department Of Health: Adult Vaccinations On Track; Mask Order To Be Lifted By June 28

New Law Updates CDL Licensing Requirements
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that a recently enacted state law, Act 131 of 2020, extends the validity period of a commercial learner's permit and helps address the issue of human trafficking through severe penalties levied on commercial drivers or those who wish to obtain a commercial driver's license.  Read more...
PennDOT Extends Expiration Dates for Apportioned Vehicle Registrations to June 16

Operation Safe Driver Week Set for July 11-17
CVSA created a 2021 Operation Safe Driver Week postcard for drivers, motor carriers, trucking associations, etc. It's a complimentary postcard that they will ship to their members, free of charge, as requested. The postcard is also available in Spanish and French.  Get more information.

Updated ODAPC Guidance - DOT Statement of Enforcement Discretion for Substance Abuse Professionals and Service Agents 
On May 27, 2021, the Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance updated its Statement of Enforcement Discretion for Substance Abuse Professionals and Service Agents guidance document.  The guidance is now effective until December 31, 2021.
