It’s Back! ExpressVote is a Win-Win for Voters and Your Elections Office
Your Elections Office was proud to make ExpressVote equipment available to every eligible voter during Early Voting in the November 2, 2021, Special Primary Election for U.S. House of Representatives, District 20. Primarily designated for voters utilizing the machine’s ADA capabilities, we were Florida’s first county to use ExpressVote for all eligible voters to mark their ballots during an election.
The response from voters was overwhelmingly positive, as voters enjoyed the increased security, easy-to-use technology, and greater accessibility that ExpressVote offers. Our Elections Office also benefited from the reduced costs of consumables compared to traditional paper ballots, as well as reduced risk for marking errors which contributed to timely results reporting.
That’s why we are so pleased to offer ExpressVote equipment once again to every eligible voter during Early Voting at all seven Early Voting sites in the upcoming Special Elections. Early Voting will be available Saturday, January 1 through Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

New Year, New Districts: Redistricting 2022
Every ten years, using information collected from U.S. Census data collection, Florida’s political boundaries, known as “districts,” are redrawn to account for changes in population. Our Elections Office does not draw district lines. However, we do play a part in the redistricting process. Once the new districts are drawn, we must draw new precinct lines. We also update the precinct boundaries so that they align with the new district maps for federal, state, and local offices. We then assign each voter to the precinct based on their address. This process is known as “reprecincting.”
Each precinct has an associated Election Day polling place. Since precincts are changing, some polling places will change as well. Starting with the 2022 Primary Election, some voters will have new Election Day polling places. If there is a change that affects you, we will let you know!
