The City of Pine Bluff, The Arts and Science Center and Pine Bluff Downtown Development receive Main Street Arkansas 2022 Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Awards
Mayor Shirley Washington, Rachel Miller (Arts & Science Center Director) and Joy Blankenship Pine Bluff Downtown Development, Inc. (Director) attended the Arkansas Municipal League Winter Conference to accept awards for three different revitalization projects in downtown Pine Bluff. As a Main Street Arkansas City, Pine Bluff Downtown Development was able to nominate these three projects for state-wide recognition.

Mayor Washington accepted the Outstanding Downtown Public Improvement Project Award for the Downtown Streetscape Project which greatly enhanced the aesthetics of Barraque and Main Streets. Rachel Miller accepted the Outstanding Adaptive Re-Use Project Award for their innovative renovations for the ARTSpace and Art Works on Main buildings. Joy Blankenship accepted the Outstanding Community Education Campaign Award for the Downtown...Alive event which allowed community members to tour renovated buildings in downtown.
New PBDD Board Members
Jamie McCombs joined the PBDD
Board of Directors in February. She is
the Marketing Director at Jefferson Regional. We are excited to have Jamie join us. She is already hard at
work promoting the Pop Up in the Bluff event as a member of the Pop Up Committee.
As the new Director for the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce, Jennifer Kline has joined our Board of Directors. We look forward to working with Jennifer as PBDD and the Chamber work together to promote Pine Bluff.
The Pop Up in the Bluff Committee is meeting and making plans for this year's event. After a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus, everyone is excited to see its return. Join us on May 7th in downtown Pine Bluff for a day filled with great shopping, food, musical entertainment and children's activities.

We are extremely grateful to this year's Pop Up in the Bluff committee. PINE BLUFF JOB FAIR
On April 21, 2022, the City of Pine Bluff will host a job fair from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Pine Bluff Convention Center, located at 1 Convention Center Drive. City departments will be seeking applicants for all available job positions.

Local employers seeking job applicants are also invited to participate and set up booths. In order for employers to register for the fair, employers should contact 870-730-2004 or email wfells@cityofpinebluff-ar.gov. Registration is free and booth space will be allotted on a first-come-first-served-basis. The deadline for employers to register is April 18.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit this job fair if looking for employment opportunities. Applicants are strongly encouraged to bring resume copies.

Public Art Project
-THE LOVESEAT-
The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas Endowment recently commissioned "The Loveseat" by artist Eric Freeman.

This public art project was created to be enjoyed by community members visiting downtown. The installation was completed on March 17th. ASC encourages visitors to stop by and take photos with the Loveseat using the hashtag #LoveonMainPB and #LoveseatPB when sharing online.

The Loveseat can be found at 701 S. Main on the west side of the building facing Main Street.

Tucked away in an historic Pine Bluff building in the 100 block of Main Street is a boutique offering unique clothes, hats, jewelry and much more. Owner Dr. Margaret Boyd-Owens has been selling retail clothing for 14 years in different locations but now graces our downtown. In addition to being a businesswoman, she is also an educator, research writer, mentor and Executive Director of MB20 "Moving Barriers to Opportunities".
