Remember to Complete your 2020 US Census
It is not too late -- Every person matters

January 21 - The Census Bureau started counting the population in remote Alaska. The count officially began in the rural Alaskan village of Toksook Bay.
March 12-20 - Households received official mail with detailed information on how to respond to the Census online, by phone or mail.
April 1 - This is Census Day. It is a reference date, not a deadline. When you respond, you'll tell the Census Bureau where you live as of April 1, 2020. You can respond before or after that date.
Starting mid-April - The Census Bureau mailed paper questionnaires to homes that had not yet responded online or by phone.
April 16 - June 19 - Census takers will work with administrations at colleges, senior centers, prisons and other facilities that house large groups of people to make sure everyone is counted.
May 27-August 14 - Census takers will interview homes that haven't responded to help make sure everyone is counted.
December - The Census Bureau will deliver apportionment counts to the President and Congress. This count determines many forms of federal assistance for states, cities and counties.
March 31, 2021 - By this date, the Census Bureau will send redistricting counts to the states. This information is used to redraw legislative districts based on population changes.

Support Local
Restaurants and Businesses

The Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Pine Bluff Small Business Association have provided a list of local restaurants with information regarding their times of operation, take out, delivery or whether temporarily closed. This list can be found at jeffersoncountyalliance.com or pinebluffsba.org . Two restaurants also open are Unique Cakes by Miss Margaret and Simplee's Barbeque. Please share this newsletter so other friends and family members can continue to support local businesses.

Though Governor Asa Hutchinson has announced restaurants will be allowed to reopen with limited customer capacity, social distancing and face masks, many restaurants are continuing to only provide pick up service. Check with the restaurant to see what they have chosen to do.
As some public service buildings are begining to open up, some sites are still closed to the public, most have websites and/or Facebook pages for information regarding their required guidelines. Many retail businesses are beginning to open. Social distancing and face mask are required when out in public, call ahead to see what protocals are being followed before traveling to their site.
